Mountain Vista Connection September 2021 CONGRATULATIONS TO MVC SCHOLARS! Mountain Vista Communities hosted a Scholarship Luncheon to celebrate the 10 Michaels Organization Educational Foundation (TMOEF) recipients. Of the 10 scholars awarded at MVC, four were able to join in on the celebration. One scholar, was attending summer football camp in Texas so his parents took his place, making it a special way for them to honor their son in his absence. The Michaels Organization, Regional Vice President Carlos Proano recognized the scholars with an informative speech on Mr. and Mrs. Levitt’s dedication to education and Michaels overall mission of Lifting Lives. Keep garbage cans inside the garage when possible until the day of pick up and bring cans back inside the same day. Even garbage cans that are tied down act as an attractant. Keep pet food indoors at night and bring bird feeders inside. Keep BBQ grills clean and in your garage. Mountain Vista Communities Page 7 Entertainment FORT FACT Christy Street is named after Sergeant William Christy. SGT. Christy was the first casualty of the 10th Cavalry, killed in action against Indians at Saline Reservation, Kansas, on October 2, 1867. The action took place some 40 miles northeast of Fort Hays, on the Saline River, and was fought between Troop I under Captain G.A. Armes, with 34 men and two officers, and a force of 300 warriors.
