Joseph the Worker St. 753 Burnside Road West Parish Victoria, BC V8Z 1M9 Office: 250.479.7413 Fax: 250.479.7619 Emergencies Only (outside office hours):1.250.732.7380 Diocese of Victoria Father Alfredo’s Email: fatheralfie@gmail.com Website: www.sjtw.ca Email: sjtwoffice@shaw.ca August 11th and 12th, 2018 Nineteenth Sunday In Ordinary Time Jesus silences the murmurers, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.” What does it mean to “listen to the Father”? It means being attentive to the needs and desires of our own humanity. If Elijah had not been brought to the point of starvation, he would not pray as he does today. What the doubters in the Gospel find so far-fetched - “I am the living bread that came down from heaven” - is in fact exactly what they need in order to be drawn to the Father’s love. That is why “Christ loved us” by handing himself over for us “as a sacrificial offering.” St. Joseph the Worker Photo Directory We are creating an updated church photo directory for the 2018/19 year! This directory will help to foster our beautiful church community but putting names to the all faces at our church. All parishioners are encouraged to participate. Participation is free for parishioners and participants will receive one free 8x10 photo and a free copy of the new church directory. Photo sessions will occur in August (28th to Sept 1st) and will continue again in September (17th - 20th and 25th - 27th). We have many families to include, so be sure to set up an appointment early!
