WELCOME Andrea Knox, LPGA Whether you play the game or not, Swing into Summer with us and celebrate all things Golf! We have something General Manager for every level of interest and experience. For beginners, we will be conducting a series of golf classes focusing on the fundamentals and playing the game. On Thursday June 9th, join our Head Professional Billy at 3pm on the driving range for a Complimentary Golf Clinic. And for our more experienced players we are offering expert club fitting with our own on staff Callaway Fitting Expert Nick Barth and the addition of a Flight Scope Launch Monitor. Friday June 10th we will also have Callaway here with their full line up of products for a fitting day. Appointments are still available, call our golf shop for details. If you just like to get out and play, we have a fun contest lined up for US Open week. Pick your favorite pro as your partner for a round and add your net score to your pro’s score for the day. Details on all this and more can be found in this newsletter or feel free to call any of us for more information. Now that things are slowing down a bit, we are anxious to get started on several projects that need attention. First up will be replacing the clubhouse sound system and the draft beer tap system. The new sound system will allow us to use a mic and play music in separate rooms or all the rooms together at the same time. And of course the draft beer system will be a welcome improvement after fighting with loss of pressure, air in the lines and too much foam! We plan to add extra taps as well so we can expand the offerings. Our Club Car fleet is finally getting the new speed controllers installed this month. About a third of the fleet is already complete! We also have several other projects that are in varying stages of planning and gathering bids. So, having said things slow down here in the summer is really dependent on your perspective. We’ll keep you posted as projects move forward and get underway. Did you know that the movie “The Greatest Game Played” tells the story of the US Open underdog Francis Ouimet’s triumph winning the title in 1913 at The Country Club? The Country Club is once again site of this years US Open on Father’s Day weekend June 16th thru 19th. Be sure to tune in and catch the action and of course this would be a great time to watch the movie if you haven’t already! You can find it on Google Play, You Tube, Disney Plus and Apple TV—and maybe even in a Red Box rental! Now get out and play! GOLF can greatly affect the uptake of vital nutrients that the David Hillhouse plant needs to grow. Extended periods of affluent water Superintendent use cause a bicarbonate buildup which makes all nutri- ents unavailable to the plant. With that being said, we have implemented a by-weekly soil flush to release these nutrients and make them readily available to the plant. We have already noticed greens are starting to get there color back. May started very dry continuing the trends from April. GOLF Billy VanArsdale, PGA Head Golf Professional Be sure to mark your calendar for June 10th, we have Callaway Fitting Day scheduled from 10:00am to 2:00pm. In order to get custom fit you do need an appointment. The Callaway reps will get your personal specs to ensure that you are maximizing your clubs in order to suit your swing. We always match Callaway’s website pricing and if you have any clubs you want to trade in Callaway will give you 50% more than their normal trade value based on Callaway’s trade website. Your trade in clubs have to be a top name brand and reasonably good condition. The clubs also need to be no more than 5-6 years old. If you have an appointment and are curious about your trade values I can give you an estimate. Callaway does reserve the right to inspect the clubs but I have never seen them lower the value that their website quotes. Also during June Nick and I will be hosting a Wedge and Putter fitting day. Please contact the golf shop for the dates. GREAT GOLF SHOTS Tuesday, May 3rd Tom Smith scored a hole in one on the par 3 Eighth hole using an 8 iron from the White Tees.
