Hello Nebraska Section PGA friends, Spring is in the air and things are starting to green up! It’s great to have the Masters back in April and kicking the golf season off in major fashion. I hope you all have your plan in place to service your customers and players coming through your facility. It looks like 2021 is starting off where 2020 ended with golf still very much an activity the whole family can participate in. Make sure you are following the local and state guidelines regarding COVID protocols so that you are not putting yourself and your facility at risk. Check out the Coronavirus Re- sources for PGA Professionals page on pga.org to check out the most relevant up-to-date information. -PGA Jr. League Player registration for the 2021 season is open and PGA Professionals are encouraged to sign up as Captains now. Visit PGAJrLeague.com for more information and to register online. -2021 Member Dues The PGA of America will begin billing on May 1, 2021 for all PGA Professionals with the due date ex- tended from June 30, 2021 to August 31, 2021, with no late fee or suspension. -PGA.Coach This is a great vehicle to help PGA Professionals understand the American Development Model (ADM) principles and how to apply them at your facility. There is no cost so go to www.PGA.Coach and sign up for a virtual training program (2 to 3 hours) which will give you access to the PGA Coach app. The app has some fantastic information if you are looking for ideas in clinics or for your junior golf program. -Rules of Amateur Status proposal I would like to thank District 8 for making the effort to submit responses to the USGA and the R & A specifically regarding payment of cash for prizes up to a set value limit. This would be a financial game chang- er for many golf shops, and we are hoping all the communication moves this decision in the right direction. As I write this note, I just returned from Frisco, Texas with the National Board, Officers and Committee chairs. Many great things happening with our association and looking forward to reporting back to the membership. Stay well and safe and best of luck getting started for the new season…….please reach out to each other for help or mentorship. Sincerely, Greg Neujahr, PGA District 8 Director – National PGA PAGE 17 Nebraska PGA News March 2021
By Keith Soriano, PGA “Whatever else anything is, it ought to begin by being personal.” Meg Ryan as Kathleen Kelly | You’ve Got Mail. Your career is personal, and as such, it came as no surprise that a podcast that dives into the personal and professional areas of your life has elicited some deeply personal responses. Over the course of the first 6 episodes, we’ve asked our listeners to chime in with topics and questions that they want to be answered. You asked some great questions that deserved answers, and in episode 7 we begin to do just that. I invite you to listen to Episode 7 of Consultant Conversations, where Jason Boaz, Mike Mueller, Todd Smith, and I answer the following questions from our listeners; Moving on: How do you know when you are ready / it is time to look for another job? Standing Out: What are the qualities that stand out to employers? In other words, what makes a great golf professional (or any great employee)? Looking Back: What do you know now that you wished you knew as an assistant? You can find this, and all previous episodes on your favorite podcast platforms: Anchor Breaker Google Podcasts Pocket Casts Radio Public Spotify We'd also welcome the opportunity to have you submit topics for the four of us to bounce around over a good cup of coffee.
