This has been Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori and it has been celebrated through Manaakitanga Friday and other activities.
We hope that Auckland goes to Alert Level 3 next Wednesday. When we are in Level 3, students in Years 9 or 10, and for whom no
other arrangements to engage in distance learning can be made, may attend school. If your child is in this category and you know
that they will be attending school during Level 3, please email inquiries@rosehillcollege.school.nz. Please include in your email
your student's name, ID number and year level and how they will get to and from school. This will assist us in our planning for Alert
Level 3. Further information was in last week’s newsletter.
Yesterday, we sent a Bus Survey to collect accurate information about which students travel on school buses. Please respond to the survey so that we
can ensure that our bus lists are up to date for the purpose of contact tracing should that be necessary in future.
Earlier this week we emailed out to parents, caregivers and students an Engagement report, which indicates the level of engagement in distance
learning that teachers observed last week. We will send this report for each week that we remain in lockdown. If a subject has not been given a colour,
is indicates that the teacher was unable to make an entry. This may be because may be that the teacher does not have access to Kamar, the system
that generates the report, from the computer they are using at home. Also, there are some teachers who have set up a more independent working
arrangement with students, particularly at Year 13, and an entry on engagement in the past week could be erroneous.
There has been some media coverage this week about moving the school holidays. The Minister of Education has just confirmed that the holidays will
remain as set and that there is no change. The last day of this term is Friday 1 October with Term 4 starting on Monday 18 October.

challenging as fatigue built up with each run making it harder

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your
efforts over the season. The opportunity to bring some of our school
teams home has been a bonus for our competitions and community
in supporting local talent. The competitions have allowed exciting
challenges moving forward into 2022 and beyond for our schools.
When COVID-19 Alert Levels allow, we will hold our end of season
secondary schools meeting where your input can be tabled.
We believe that it is important that we acknowledge the efforts and
achievements of all. While this news will be disappointing given the
timing, the health and safety of all participants is imperative.
Counties Manukau Rugby wish to pass on their appreciation to all
players, coaches, families, and volunteers this season and thank the
community as a whole for your ongoing support and passion towards
Secondary schools rugby.
Looking ahead, we look forward to finishing the 2021 year strong with
the hopes of Rugby 7s, Representative campaigns, Club of origin, PAC

secondary schools.
A message from Auckland Rugby Union:
The ASSRU Executive Committee and College Sport, with guidance
from Auckland Rugby, met to discuss the implications of the lockdown,
and possible extensions of the lockdown in Auckland, on the Auckland
Secondary Schools’ Rugby Season.
With the uncertainty of what lies ahead, along with the Return to Play
protocols which mean rugby is only permissible at Level 2 and require
periods of training before any contact can be allowed, the decision has
been made to cancel the Grade Rugby season. This cancellation means
no winners will be declared in any Grade Rugby competition.
While this news will be disappointing, the health and safety of all
participants is imperative. Auckland Rugby wishes to pass on their
thanks to all players, coaches, families, and volunteers for what has
been a very successful 2021 Secondary School Rugby Season.
Auckland Rugby would like to thank the whole community for your
ongoing support and passion towards providing positive experiences
for all our Secondary School players.
Please stay safe and stay connected.
