FIT X RULES AND CRITERIA OF CLASSES. FIT X FEDERATION CRITERIA – Updated March 2021. Terms & Conditions. 1. No Membership fee needed for the FIT X FEDERATION YEAR 1, 2021. This will change in 2022 to support costs and we will ALWAYS aim to give back to the Athletes – we are nothing without you! 2. Rules may be updated when needed, please be aware and check all relevant rules and criteria before your competition of choice. 3. Variations to classes, omissions to classes and additional classes are at the discretion of the promoter but must be approved by the head of FIT X and or Head Judges. 4. Athletes may compete in ONE or a maximum of TWO classes per show. Promoters may put on other classes outside of the qualifying classes such as local area competitions and these can be entered additionally with prior knowledge of head judges. 5. The Junior or Masters class will require the athlete to produce ID at registration when asked. 6. 16 years old is the minimum age to compete in the FIT X Federation. 7. FIT X will promote their events in a run-through manner. Competitors will participate in their category of choice, followed by announcement of placings, awards and invitations, where applicable. 8. No posing or background music shall include words that promote violence or racial slurs, swear words or blasphemy. In any instances of this happening the music will be stopped. 9. The head judges has in exceptional cases the authority to remove or to not allow an athlete to step on stage if they deem it necessary for the safety of the competitor. 10. All competitors in each class will wear their number on the left hand side of attire.
ALL MEN'S CLASSES- BODYBUILDING JUDGING CRITERIA : All Bodybuilding classes will be judged on - Muscularity, which will be presented on a physique of Symmetry, Balance, Proportions, Condition (applicable to the class) and Stage presence. Presentation, Etiquette and tan will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. • All Men’s Bodybuilding Classes will follow the same format: • Posing trunks must be worn free of logos or motifs. Colour of choice. • Thongs are not permitted. • Classic Bodybuilding trunks or classic shorts. Black in colour. • Bodybuilders will be free of body hair with No body jewellery allowed. • Bodybuilders will enter the stage numerically and will always return to line in numerical order. • Bodybuilders will take four quarter turns to the right. • Bodybuilders will undergo compulsory poses. • Bodybuilders will participate in individual posing routines, with a maximum 60 seconds duration (can be less). • To finish competitors may be asked to perform a free style pose-down as a group, where most muscular poses could be performed. • Participants will then be receive awards and finals invitation if applicable. In all instances the athletes will be directed and instructed by the MC and or Head Judges. • For the smooth running of the classes, gentlemen will be asked to respect their fellow athlete and refrain from pushing, bumping or shoving. As this may lead to disqualification.
QUARTER TURNS (will always be directed to the right). • Head must face the same direction as the feet. • Hands must be held slightly away from the trunk • No excessive twisting of the torso. • Feet must be flat on the floor, heels together. COMPULSORY POSES ARE AS FOLLOWS: • Front Double Bicep. • Front Lat Spread. • Side Chest. • Rear Double Bicep. • Rear Lat Spread. • Side Tricep. • Abdominals and Thigh. Individual Posing Routines Each Bodybuilder will be asked to perform a maximum of 60 seconds for an Individual Free Posing to music of their own choosing. In all instances the music will free from lyrics of violence or racial slurs, swear words or blasphemy. Which will be stopped immediately. No props permitted. A music track will be provided by the event organiser, if needed.
JUNIOR BODYBUILDING: A competitor in Junior Bodybuilding will be 23 and under. Meaning the limit is 23 years & 364 days by the Finals of the year competed. If the athlete is invited to participated in the final but then falls outside the age range by the time of the final the athlete is encouraged to change classes, choice of Class can be guided by a member of the judging panel if needed. FIRST TIMERS BODYBUILDING: First Timers class is for athletes who have NOT competed in any Bodybuilding or Model shows of any standard, Independent or otherwise. It is for TRUE First-Time athletes only. If an athlete has been invited to a Finals they are permitted to compete in future qualifiers within the same competitive year but not in the First timers class. If another Final invitation is awarded the athlete will be asked to choose the class for the final but would be encouraged to compete in the more experienced class. NOVICE BODYBUILDING: Novice Bodybuilding is for an athlete who has not placed in the top 3 of ANY Federation’s National Final. Junior Classes being the exemption to this rule. If a Novice competitor enters an open Class, they are no longer a Novice, the single exception is the move up from Junior Bodybuilding. MASTERS OVER 40’S : Masters over 40’s can compete in this class from the day of his 40th birthday. MASTERS OVER 50’S : The Masters over 50’s can compete in this class from the day of his 50th birthday. MIXED DISABILITY : This Class is open to disabled athletes only – Men and Women combined.
OPEN BODYBUILDING (HEIGHT) : The Height Requirements are as follows: • Class 3 = Up to and including 168cm. • Class 2 = Over 168.1cm and up to and including 178cm. • Class 1 = Over 178.1cm. CLASSIC BODYBUILDING JUDGING CRITERIA: All Classic Bodybuilding classes will be judged on - Muscularity, which will be presented on a flowing physique of Symmetry, Balance, Proportions, Condition (applicable to the class) with a tapered waist and Stage presence. Classic Presentation, Etiquette and tan will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. Competitors in this class will be expected to pose in a classical manner. COMPULSORY POSES ARE AS FOLLOWS: • Front Double Bicep. (Classical front stance). • Front Lat Spread. • Side Chest. (Classical interpretation). • Rear Double Bicep. • Rear Lat Spread. • Side Tricep. (Classical interpretation). • Abdominals and Thigh.
If numbers permit this class may be split into two height/weight classes. The Classic Bodybuilding class will have a height / weight ratio. This will be: • Classic class 3 = Up to and including 175cm’s with a maximum added weight of 6kg • Classic class 2 = 175.1cm up to and including 185cm’s with a maximum added weight of 10kg. • Classic Class 3 = 185.1cm and over, with a maximum added weight of 13kg. Example: • Classic class 3: A competitors height of 170cm = Take 100cm away, which equals 70cm, which can then be added a maximum of 6kg. which means a competition weight of 76kg. • Classic class 2: A competitors height 185cm = Take 100cm away, which equals 85cm, which can then be added a maximum of 10kg. which means a competition weight of 95kg. • Classic class 1: A competitors height 195cm = Take 100cm away, which equals 95cm, which can then be added a maximum of 13kg. which means a competition weight of 108kg. CLASSIC BODYBUILDING MASTERS OVER 40: Masters over 40’s can compete in this class from the day of his 40th birthday. The height/weight ratio as Classical Bodybuilding.
MEN'S PHYSIQUE CLASSES JUDGING CRITERIA: Men’s Physique classes will be judged on - Muscularity of an athletic appearance, which will be presented on a flowing physique of Symmetry, Balance, Proportions, Condition (applicable to the class) with a tapered waist. Stage presence. Presentation, etiquette, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. All Men’s Physique Classes will follow the same protocol: • Long board shorts must be worn free of logos or motifs (manufacturers labels are acceptable i.e Nike, Adidas). Colour of choice and just above the knee and one inch below the navel. • Men’s Physique should be free of body hair. • No body jewellery is allowed. • Men’s Physique will enter the stage numerically and will always return to line in numerical order. • Men’s Physique will take 4 quarter turns to the right. • Men’s Physique will undergo compulsory poses. • Men’s Physique will perform individual “I” Walks (music provided by promotor). • Competitors may be asked to perform a free style pose down as a group. • Award ceremony to conclude the class. • In all instances the athletes will be directed and instructed by the MC and or Head Judges. QUARTER TURNS (will always be directed to the right). • Head must face the same direction as the feet in front and rear positions. • One open hands must be held slightly away from the trunk, other on hip or in pocket. • No excessive twisting of the torso. • One foot must be flat on the floor, other maybe raised.
COMPULSORY POSES ARE AS FOLLOWS: • Front pose, two arms overhead both hands open. • Quarter turn to the right, displaying left side obliques, with left hand behind head. • Rear pose, two arms overhead both hands open. • Quarter turn to the right, displaying right side obliques, with right hand behind head. • Back around to face front. “I” WALK. (will be performed numerically and demonstrated as follows) • Commence from rear of the stage with a front pose of choice. • Walk to the front of the stage. • Perform four quarter turns with pose of choice on each turn. • All poses must be with hands open. • Finish the “I” walk by returning your place in the line numerically. • The “I” Walk should take no longer than 60 seconds. The Men’s Physique Classes: • Junior Men’s Physique . • Men’s Physique. • Masters Men’s Physique Both Junior and Masters Physique classes will be available at all qualifiers, however the classes will only put on with a minimum entry of 6 Athletes per class. If less than the required numbers register the competitors will be moved into the open Men’s Physique and judges made aware of the move and will be able to offer invitations to individuals for Finals if required.
MEN’S PHYSIQUE CLASS Classes with larger numbers may be split into two Classes. • Men’s Physique Class 2: Up to and including 178 cm’s • Men’s Physique Class 1: Over 178.1 cm’s JUNIOR MEN’S PHYSIQUE A competitor in Junior Men’s Physique will be 23 and under. Meaning the limit is 23 years and 364 days by the Finals of the year competed. If the athlete is invited to participated in the final but then falls outside the age range by the time of the final the athlete is encouraged to compete in the Men’s Physique class. MASTERS MEN’S PHYSIQUE Masters Men’s Physique over 35’s can compete in this class from the day of his 35th birthday. MUSCLE MODEL JUDGING CRITERIA: The Muscle Model competitor will be judged on - A physique of more muscle mass than the Men’s Physique Classes, to include Symmetry, Balance, Proportions, Condition (applicable to the class) with a tapered waist. Stage presence. Presentation, etiquette, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. • Trunks will be Lycra Fashion Shorts with a lace up waist. • The shorts will be of short length to expose the thighs. • Muscle Model should be free of body hair. • No body jewellery is allowed. • Muscle Model will enter the stage numerically and will always return to line in numerical order. • Muscle Model will take 4 quarter turns to the right.
• Muscle Model will undergo compulsory poses. • Muscle Model will perform individual “I” Walks (music provided by promotor). • Muscle Model may be asked to perform a free style pose down as a group. • Award ceremony to conclude the class. • In all instances the athletes will be directed and instructed by the MC and or Head Judges. ALL LADIES CLASSES- BIKINI JUDGING CRITERIA : Bikini Classes are: • Junior Bikini • Bikini • Bikini Trained • Masters Bikini over 35’s. • Master’s Bikini over 40’s. • Wellness Bikini classes will be judged on - A body of athletic, toned, feminine appearance, which will be presented on a flowing physique of Symmetry, Balance, Proportions. Stage presence. Presentation, etiquette, poise, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. • Bikini classes will wear 2- piece suit, colour, fabric of competitor choice. The suit may be decorated with crystals. The suit bottom must consist of full front coverage, the rear must be a V shape of which is respectful and feminine. • NO thongs permitted. • Shoes can be of any colour or style. Ideally comfortable for the competitor. No overly high platform sole, for the safety of the athlete. • No head-wear or props. • Jewellery can be worn but must be tasteful and enhance the overall physique. • Suits, jewellery and shoes will not be judged. All Bikini Classes will follow the same format: • Bikini competitors will enter numerically and will always return to line in numerical order. • Bikini competitors will take 4 quarter turns to the right.
• Bikini competitors will perform individual “I” Walks (music provided by promotor). • Bikini competitors may be asked to perform a free style feminine pose-down as a group. • Award ceremony to conclude the class. • In all instances the athletes will be directed and instructed by the MC and or Head Judges. QUARTER TURNS (will always be directed to the right). • Front position- Competitor will stand, feet no more than hip width apart. One hand on the hip and the other hand by your side. • Side position- Left side showing- one leg straight, other leg slightly bent, right hand on the hip, left hand by your side, slight twist to show waist. • Rear position- Competitor will stand no more than hip width apart. Competitors choice of, one hand on the hip, one hand off. Two hands on hips or two hands off. No bending forward at the hips. • Side position-Right side showing- one leg straight, other leg slightly bent, left hand on the hip, right hand by your side, slight twist to show waist. • Back around to face front. “I” Walk (will be performed numerically and demonstrated as follows). • Commence from rear of the stage with a front pose of choice. • Walk to the front of the stage. • Perform four quarter turns with pose of choice on each turn. • All poses must be with hands open, No overhead poses. • Finish the “I” walk by returning your place in the line numerically. • The “I” Walk should take no longer than 60 seconds.

BIKINI Bikini will be judged on - A body of athletic, toned, feminine appearance, which will be presented on a flowing physique of Symmetry, Balance and Proportions. Stage presence. Presentation, etiquette, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. BIKINI TRAINED Bikini Trained will be judged on an athletic trained body promoting a feminine appearance. Clear evidence of training muscularly, with a slightly lower body fat. Symmetry, Balance and Proportions. Stage presence. Presentation, etiquette, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. WELLNESS Wellness competitors will present an athletic looking physiques whilst promoting a feminine appearance. A wellness physiques will be fully developed but would be expected to carry more body mass from the waist down. FIGURE CLASSES. The Figure Classes consist of: • Figure. • Trained Figure. • Physique. • Women’s Bodybuilding.
FIGURE JUDGING CRITERIA : Figure athletes will promote a body of athletic, toned, feminine appearance, which will be presented on a flowing physique of Symmetry, Balance, Proportions. Stage presence. Presentation, poise, etiquette, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. • Figure classes will wear 2- piece suit, which will have a cross over back. Colour, fabric of competitor choice. The suit may be decorated with crystals. The suit bottom must consist of full front coverage, the rear must be connectable to the top while being respectful and feminine. • NO thongs permitted. • Shoes can be of any colour or style. Ideally comfortable for the competitor. No overly heigh platform sole, for the safety of the athlete. • No head-wear or props. • Jewellery can be worn but must be tasteful and enhance the overall physique. • Suits, jewellery and shoes will not be judged. Presentation, etiquette, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. • Trained Figure will wear 2- piece suit, which will have a cross over back. Colour, fabric of competitor choice. The suit may be decorated with crystals. The suit bottom must consist of full front coverage, the rear must be connectable to the top while being respectful and feminine. • NO thongs permitted. • Shoes can be of any colour or style. Ideally comfortable for the competitor. No overly high platform sole, for the safety of the athlete. • No head-wear or props. • Jewellery can be worn but must be tasteful and enhance the overall physique.

Colour, fabric of competitor choice. The suit may be decorated with crystals. Presentation, etiquette, tan, skin tone, hair and facial features will all be taken into consideration during the judging process. • Women's Bodybuilding will wear 2- piece suit, which will have a cross over back. Colour, fabric of competitor choice. The suit may be decorated with crystals. FINAL INVITATIONS FIT X Invitations to the Final Competition of the competitive year will be awarded by the Judging panel to athletes who present a physique of competitive quality. No qualifier placing guarantees an automatic invitation to be awarded. Invitations are the responsibility of the head judges at the respective qualifying show(s). Athletes who win their relevant class at the previous years Final, will receive an invitation to the following year only FIT X Final.
