Form B Part 1 Aim of the event : The primary aim of this session was to mark the 2nd Anniversary of surgical strikes and tell the students how defense forces defend the country and how the surgical strike conducted. Part 2 Abstract : A surgical strike is a military attack which results in, was intended to result in, or is claimed to have resulted in only damage to the intended legitimate military target, and no or minimal collateral damage to surrounding structures, vehicles, buildings, or the general public infrastructure and utilities. On 29 September 2016, eleven days after the Uri attack, Indian army said it had conducted "surgical strikes" against suspected militants in Pakistani-administered Kashmir. The Indian operation said to be in retaliation for a militant attack on the Indian army at Uri on 18th September in the Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir that left our 19 soldiers dead. In the succeeding days and months, India and Pakistan continued to exchange fire along the border in Kashmir, resulting in dozens of military and civilian casualties on both sides The lecture was more of a two way interaction so as to keep the students involved and avoids any distractions. Sir not only gave the students a brief introduction about the meaning and necessity of surgical strikes but also inform the students about how the partition between India & Pakistan happened and the current Kashmir problem going on between the two countries. Sir also educated the students about the relations and various security issues India has with its neighboring countries and how better can it be handled. Later on a video was also shown to the students which depicted the entire scenario and process of how actually surgical strikes actually took place. The session was concluded with sir suggesting some ways of how the existing situation can be handled in a better way, inculcating enormous amount of respect towards our army and soldiers and how we as students being the future of our country can contribute towards its peace and security.
