i-box Daybreak - User Guide
Introduction
The i-box Daybreak is much more than a bedside alarm clock radio additional.
Additional features include 10W fast charging for any Qi-enabled device a nd
additional charging via the 2x 2.1A USB ports. The independent dual alarms offer
weekday options and a choice of radio, t one or natural sounds to wake you. As well
 as listening to stereo DAB and FM radio over the 5W speakers you can playback
 your favourite tunes via Bluetooth.

Caring for your Alarm Clock
 Important Safety Information

Important - Please read these instructions fully before
installing or operating your speaker.

Keep away from flame sources such as lighted candles.

Do not expose to dripping or splashed fluids. Objects
filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed
close to the speaker.

The unit should not be exposed to direct sunlight, very
high or low temperature, moisture, vibrations, strong
magnetic fields, high frequencies and
dusty environments.

Do not place the product in enclosed bookcases or
racks without proper ventilation. Ventilation should not
be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with
items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.

Never attempt to insert wires, pins or other such
objects into the vents or openings of the unit.

Do not disassemble or modify the alarm clock, there
are no user serviceable parts.

If the alarm clock is damaged in anyway or
malfunctions do not use. Consult a qualified
service engineer.

Do not use abrasives, benzene, thinner or other
solvents to clean the surface of the unit. To clean, wipe
with clean soft cloth and a mild detergent solution.

Do not dispose of this product with household
waste at the end of its life cycle; hand it over to
a collection centre for the recycling of electrical
and electronic appliances.

Before getting started
Before setup or making connections please unwind the wire antenna 12 fully.
To power your Daybreak connect the power adapter supplied to an electrical outlet
and the power socket 11 on the back panel. Your Daybreak will power up in standby
mode.

Setting the clock automatically
In standby mode press the Standby/mode key 10 once to enter DAB mode
your Daybreak will search for the first available DAB station once connected
time and date will be set automatically.

Setting the clock, Time and Date manually
Setting 24 Hour / 12 Hour display
By default the Daybreak will display a 24 hour clock to change to a 12 hour AM/
PM display. Long press the Standby/ Mode key 10 then press the clock key 9 to
change clock settings.

Setting Alarm (In Standby mode)
Press the alarm key 8 to enter alarm setting mode then use the previous and next
keys / 4 or 5 to change the time and options then the enter or alarm key

To set an alarm select: Alarm 1 or Alarm2 ➡ On Time➡Duration ➡ Sound Source:
➡ Alarm ON/OFF Press / 8 or 7 to save the setting. If an alarm is saved as
ON the corresponding Alarm Set 1/Alarm Set 2 icon(s) 19 1 2 will be displayed
on the left of the screen. These icons will also flash during setup. If you pause for
10 seconds during setup you will see a “NOT SAVED” message and you will need to
restart the Alarm setting process.

When the electronic (Beep), FM radio and Nature sound alarms are activated they will
start quietly and gradually increase in volume from 0 to 8 over 40 seconds.
You can use the Volume +/- keys 2 & 3 at any time to adjust the alarm volume.

Dimmer

Select mode
Your Daybreak is ideal for use as a speaker for music playback from your smartphone
and other mobile devices either via the AUX IN socket or Bluetooth. It can also be used
as a DAB or FM radio or to play a range of pre-loaded Nature Sound Tracks.
To scroll through these modes press mode key 10 . Press enter key to select a
mode

DAB Radio
Make sure the the aerial is fully unwound.
Press the mode key 10 to find DAB mode. Press the enter key to select.
Long press the Play/Scan key 7 to Auto Scan for DAB stations.

After scanning is complete use the previous and next keys 4 or 5 to
scroll through the aphabetical list of DAB stations found.

DAB Radio saving presets
You can now save the station playing to one of the 30 DAB presets. Long press the
preset key 9 and use the previous and next keys 4 or 5 to scroll to an
empty preset position, press enter to store.

Full scan (Auto Scan): press the ENTER key 7 , a progress bar will be displayed
and the number of stations found.

Manual tune: If you know the frequency of a station you can search for it using
this option. Press key 7 to enter, use 4 or 5 to scroll through DAB

frequencies for the one you want then press key 7 to select. Press the alarm/
menu key 8 to exit the search and return to the menu.

Prune: Setting Prune to clears stations with no signal reception from the DAB
“Station list” when you next perform a Full scan. Select Prune in the Menu and use the
previous and next keys / 4 or 5 to select Yes/No press the ENTER key 7 ,

then press the alarm/menu key 7 to exit.

DRC: Dynamic Range Control can make quieter sounds easier to hear when your
radio is used in a noisy environment. This function is only available for some DAB
stations. Select DRC in the Menu use the previous and next keys / 4 or 5 to

choose high/low/off.

System Menu
The system menu offers an alternate way to set Time and date to the one previouly
described, also a Factory reset option and access to Software version information.

FM radio operation
Press 10 key repeatedly to enter FM mode.
Long press 7 to auto scan, available stations will be saved automatically to the
preset positions, up to 30 if this many are found.
Alternatively press the (2) or (4) keys to scan backwards or forwards through
the frequencies to the previous or next station available. Save the station found to a
Preset if you want to keep it.

FM Radio saving presets
You can now save the station playing to one of the 30 DAB presets. Long press the
preset key 9 and use the previous and next keys 4 or 5 to scroll to an
empty preset position, press enter to store.

In FM mode long press the 8 menu key, then 4 or 5 keys to see the
options available press the enter key to enter one of these submenus.

Scan setting: choose or 
If you have a strong signal you may want to choose “strong stations only” to limit
the number of stations found and make sure they have a clear signal.

Audio setting: In the FM menu press next and enter then choose or . If you have a weak signal “Forced mono” may give a
clearer, better balanced sound.

Bluetooth
1. Use the mode key 10 to select Bluetooth make sure your device is in Bluetooth

 mode. The Daybreak will search for the last connected device and the Bluetooth icon
 24 will flash.
2. If the last connected device is not available. The Daybreak will search for other
 devices and will appear in your device’s Bluetooth menu as “i-box Daybreak”.
3. Select the Daybreak and the “BT” icon will appear in the Daybreak’s display when
 connection is successful.

Sleep function (In FM/Bluetooth/nature sound track mode )
This function is ideal if you want to listen to the radio, your Bluetooth device or one
of the nature sound tracks while you drift off to sleep. You can set your Daybreak to
switch off automatically after the selected time (in minutes) has elapsed.
Play the FM radio, your Bluetooth device or select and play a nature sound track
then follow the settings below:

Connect any audio device to the 3.5mm socket 14 on the back of your Daybreak

For private listening to any audio output from the Daybreak connect your
headphones to the 3.5mm jack socket 13 on the back panel.

Wireless charging
If your phone has Qi wireless charging
capability you can use the charging

to interfere with radio reception
therefore we advise you not to try

2. The wireless charging icon will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the
 LCD panel while your phone is charging and the battery charge status can be
 seen on your phone’s display.

Please Note: Your phone will not charge when the Daybreak is in backup mode (not
being powered by the power adapter).

If problems occur when charging or if charging does not start:
• *Normally your smartphone should be centred on the charging pad as shown.
 However some phones may need to be placed slightly off centre. As the built-in
 wireless receiver may not be centred inside the phone. This varies by brand/model.

• Remove your smartphone from its case if the thickness of the case exceeds
 5mm or if it contains metal.

• The charging time varies depending on the charging capacity of the battery and
 its current residual capacity.

• The components may heat up during the charging process. They will slowly cool
 down again after the charging process.

USB charging ports
1. You can charge two external devices by connecting them to the USB charging
 ports (15 & 16) on the back of the your Daybreak.
2. Your devices battery charge status will usually be shown on it’s display.
• There may be some radio interference while charging.
• Please do not try to charge the same device using the wireless charging function
 and one of the USB charging ports (15 or 16) at the same time.

Backup batteries
Please Note: These batteries are for backup only and will not power your Daybreak
just save the time, date and alarm settings when mains power is cut or disconnected.

The Daybreak has a backup battery feature. Please insert 2x AAA batteries (not
supplied) into the battery compartment on the underside of your Daybreak (see
page 6). This will ensure that time and alarm settings are remembered if the
Daybreak is unplugged or there is a power cut.

Vor Beginn
Vor dem Einrichten des Weckerradios oder dem Herstellen von Verbindungen die
Drahtantenne 12 zuerst ganz abwickeln.
Zum Einschalten des Geräts das mitgelieferte Netzteil an eine Steckdose und die
Netzteilbuchse 11 an der Rückseite des Geräts anschließen. Dann schaltet sich das
Daybreak-Weckerradio im Standby-Modus ein.

Automatische Uhreinstellung
Im Standby-Modus die Standby-/Modustaste 10 einmal drücken, um in den
DAB-Modus zu gehen. Dann sucht das Daybreak-Radio nach dem ersten
verfügbaren DAB-Sender. Wenn das Gerät angeschlossen ist,
werden Uhrzeit und Datum automatisch eingestellt.

Manuelle Einstellung von Uhr, Uhrzeit und Datum
24-Stunden- / 12-Stunden-Anzeige einstellen
Das Gerät ist standardmäßig auf eine 24-Stunden-Uhr voreingestellt. Um auf
eine 12-Stunden-Uhr mit einer Anzeige der ersten und der zweiten Tageshälfte
umzustellen, die Standby-/Modustaste 10 lange drücken, dann die Uhrtaste 9
drücken, um die Uhreinstellungen zu ändern.

Die Alarmtaste 8 drücken, um in den Alarmeinstellungsmodus zu gehen, dann
mit den Vor- und Rücklauftasten / 4 oder 5 die Uhrzeit und die Optionen

ändern; dann die Eingabe- oder Alarmtaste / 8 oder 7 drücken, um jede

Einstellung zu bestätigen.
Zum Einstellen eines Alarms auswählen: Alarm 1 oder Alarm2 ➡ Einschaltzeit ➡
Dauer ➡ Klangquelle ➡ Alarm EIN/AUS / 8 oder 7 drücken, um die
Einstellung zu speichern. Wenn ein Alarm als ON EIN (‚ON’) gespeichert ist, werden
die entsprechenden Symbole für ‚Alarm 1 eingestellt‘/ ‚Alarm 2 eingestellt‘ 19

DAB-Radio
Darauf achten, dass die Antenne ganz abgewickelt ist.
Die Modustaste 10 drücken, um den DAB-Modus zu finden. Die Eingabetaste

drücken zum Auswählen. Die Wiedergabe-/Scan-Taste 7 lange drücken, um

das Gerät automatisch nach DAB-Sendern suchen zu lassen. Wenn die automa-
tische Suche beendet ist, können Sie mit den Vor- und Rück lauftasten 4
 5 die alphabetische Liste der gefundenen DAB-Sender durchblättern.

DAB-Radio – Voreinstellungen speichern
Jetzt können Sie den laufenden Sender zu einer der 30 DAB-Voreinstellungen
speichern. Die Voreinstellungstaste 9 lange drücken und mit den Vor- und
Rücklauftasten 4 5 auf eine leere Voreinstellungsposition scrollen, dann
die Eingabetaste drücken zum Speichern.

Prune: Durch Einstellen der ‚Prune‘-Funktion auf (Ja) werden Sender ohne Empfang
bei der nächsten vollständigen automatischen Sendersuche aus der
DAB- „Senderliste“ gelöscht. In dem Menü die Funktion Prune auswählen und dann
mit den Vor- und Rücklauftasten / 4 5 Ja/Nein auswählen. Die EINGABE-
Taste 7 drücken, dann die Alarm-/Menütaste 8 drücken zum Beenden.

Systemmenü
Das Systemmenü bietet eine alternative Methode zu der zuvor beschriebenen
Methode zum Einstellen von Datum und Uhrzeit, auch eine Option zum Wie-
derherstellen der Werkseinstellungen und den Zugriff auf die Angaben über die
Software-Version.

Im FM/UKW-Modus:
Mit der Modustaste 10 auswählen Lange drücken SCAN 7 um UKW-
Sender zu suchen.

Hinweis: Wenn Sie ein starkes Signal empfangen, können Sie „nur starke Sender“

Gefundene Sender werden unter bis zu 30 Voreinstellungen gespeichert, sofern so
viele gefunden wurden.
Alternativ können Sie Sender manuell einstellen. Drücken Sie lange auf die Zurück-
oder Weiter-Taste, um den nächsten verfügbaren UKW-Sender einzustellen.
Speichern Sie den gefundenen Sender als eine Voreinstellung, wenn Sie ihn
behalten möchten.
Um ein besseres Signal zu erhalten und mehr Sender zu finden, können Sie die
Antenne ausrichten oder das Radio neu positionieren (zum Beispiel an einem
Fenster).

Bluetooth
Mit der Modustaste 10 Bluetooth auswählen; darauf achten, dass Ihr Gerät im

Bluetooth-Modus ist. Dann sucht das Daybreak-Weckerradio nach dem zuletzt
verbundenen Gerät, und das Bluetooth-Symbol 24 blinkt auf.
Wenn das zuletzt verbundene Gerät nicht verfügbar ist, sucht das Daybreak nach an-
deren Geräten und erscheint in dem Bluetooth-Menü Ihres Geräts als „i-box Daybreak”.
Wählen Sie das Daybreak; hört dann auf zu blinken das „BT“-Symbol auf dem Display
des Daybreak, wenn die Verbindung hergestellt werden konnte.

Falls beim Laden Probleme auftreten oder falls der Ladevorgang nicht beginnt:
• *Normalerweise sollte das Smartphone zentral, wie auf der Abbildung
 dargestellt, auf der Aufladefläche positioniert werden. Einige Modelle
 müssen ggf. jedoch leicht versetzt, nicht ganz zentral, positioniert werden,da
 der eingebaute Drahtlos-Empfänger möglicherweise nicht zentral in dem
 Smartphone integriert ist. Dies variiert je nach Marke/Modell.
• Wenn das Etui des Smartphones dicker als 5 mm ist oder es Metall enthält,
 sollten Sie es aus dem Etui entnehmen.
• Die Ladezeit variiert je nach der Ladekapazität der Batterie und ihrer aktuellen
 Restkapazität.
• Die Komponenten können sich während des Aufladeprozesses erhitzen.
 Sie werden nach dem Ladeprozess wieder allmählich abkühlen
USB-Ladeanschlüsse
1. Es können zwei externe Geräte aufgeladen werden, indem Sie sie an die beiden
 USB-Ladeanschlüsse 15 16 an der Rückseite des Daybreak-Weckerradios

Reservebatterien
Hinweis: Diese Batterien dienen lediglich als Reserve und nicht für den Betrieb des
Daybreak-Weckerradios. Sie gewährleisten lediglich die Speicherung der Uhrzeit-,
Datums- und Alarmeinstellungen, wenn das Gerät nicht mit dem Hauptstromnetz
verbunden ist bzw. im Falle eines Stromausfalls.
Das Daybreak-Weckerradio ist mit einer Reservebatteriefunktion ausgerüstet.
Legen Sie zwei AAA-Batterien (nicht im Lieferumfang inbegriffen) in das
Batteriefach auf der Unterseite des Daybreak-Weckerradios ein (siehe Seite 19).
Dadurch wird gewährleistet, dass Ihre Uhrzeit- und Alarmeinstellungen gespeichert
bleiben, falls das Daybreak-Weckerradio vom Stromnetz getrennt wird, oder im
Falle eines Stromausfalls.

Antes de empezar
Antes de hacer la configuración o de establecer conexiones, desenrolle la antena 12
por completo.
Para encender su Daybreak, conecte el adaptador de alimentación suministrado a
una toma eléctrica y la toma de corriente 11 en la parte trasera.. Su Daybreak se
encenderá en modo de espera.

Configurar el reloj automáticamente
En modo de espera, presione la tecla Espera/modo 10 una vez para acceder
al modo DAB. Su Daybreak buscará la primera estación DAB disponible una
vez que la hora y la fecha se hayan configurado automáticamente.

Configurar el reloj, la hora y la fecha manualmente
Configurar la visualización de 24 horas/12 horas
De forma predeterminada, Daybreak mostrará un reloj de 24 horas para cambiar a
una visualización de 12 horas AM/PM. Mantenga presionada la tecla de modo 10
Espera para cambiar la configuración del reloj a continuación, presione la tecla del
reloj 9 para confirmar.

Configurar la alarma 1 (En modo de espera)
Presione la tecla de alarma 8 para acceder al modo de configuración de la

alarma, a continuación, utilice las teclas de siguiente y anterior / 4 y 5 para

cambiar la hora y las opciones, a continuación, presione la tecla de alarma /
 8 o 7 para confirmar cada configuración.

Para configurar una alarma, seleccione: Alarma 1 o Alarma 2 ➡On Time➡Duración
➡ Sonido Fuente ➡ Alarma ON/OFF. Presione / 8 o 7 para guardar la
configuración. Si se guarda una alarma como ON los iconos correspondientes de

Cuando está activada la alarmas electrónica, la radio FM o los sonidos naturales,
empezarán a un volumen bajo y aumentarán gradualmente de volumen de 0 a 8 en 40
segundos. Puede utilizar las teclas de Volumen 2 & 3 aen cualquier momento para
ajustar el volumen de la alarma.

Seleccionar modo
Su Daybreak es ideal para utilizarlo como altavoces para reproducir música desde su
smartphone y otros dispositivos móviles, ya sea a través de la toma de entrada AUX o
Bluetooth.
También se puede utilizar como radio DAB o FM o para reproducir una selección de
pistas de sonidos naturales precargados.
Para desplazarse por estos modos, presione la tecla de modo 10 . Presione la tecla

Intro 7 para seleccionar un modo.

Radio DAB
Asegúrese de que la antena esté totalmente desenrollada.
Presione la tecla de modo 10 para encontrar el modo DAB. Presione la tecla Intro

emisoras DAB. Tras finalizar el escaneo, utiliza las teclas anterior y siguiente
 4 y 5 para avanzar por la lista alfabética de las emisoras DAB encontradas.

Guardar preajustes de radio DAB
Ahora puede guardar la emisora que se está reproduciendo en uno de los 30 prea-
justes DAB. Mantenga presionada la 9 y utilice las teclas anterior y siguiente
 4 y 5 para desplazarse hasta una posición de preajuste vacía, presione

Reproducir preajustes de radio DAB
Presione brevemente la tecla de preajustes 9 y utilice las teclas anterior y

Full scan (autoescaneo): Mantenga presionada la tecla SCAN 7 se mostrará
una barra de progreso y la cantidad de emisoras encontradas.
Manual tune: Sintonización manual: Si conoce la frecuencia de una emisora,
puede buscarla con esta opción. Presione la tecla INTRO 7 para seleccionar

. Utilice las teclas 4 y 5 para desplazarse a través

de las frecuencias DAB hasta llegar a la que busca. Presione la tecla 7 para

escuchar la frecuencia. Presione la tecla 8 para salir de la búsqueda y volver al menú.

Prune (Depurar): Seleccionar en el modo Prune (Depurar) elimina las estaciones
sin señal desde la «Lista de emisoras» DAB» cuando vuelva a hacer otro Escaneo
completo. Seleccione Prune (Depurar) en el menú y utilice la tecla 5 para

seleccionar Sí/No, presione la tecla ENTER 7 a continuación, presione la tecla de

MENU 8 para salir.

Menú Sistema
El menú Sistema ofrece una forma alternativa para configurar la hora y la fecha a la
descrita anteriormente, también existe una opción de restablecimiento a
la configuración de fábrica y acceso a la información de la versión del software.

Operar con la radio FM
Presione la tecla de modo 10 para pasar por los distintos modos hasta llegar al modo
de radio FM. Mantenga presionada la tecla SCAN 7 para buscar emisoras de FM.

Scan Setting: Ajustes de Búsqueda: después la tecla 7 para entrar en el menú
de ajuste de «Búsqueda», elija (Todas las emisoras) o (Solo las emisoras estables) y luego Mantenga presionada SCAN 7 .

Nota: Si tiene una buena recepción puede elegir «Solo emisoras estables» para limitar
el número de emisoras encontradas y asegurarse de que tienen una señal clara.
Las emisoras encontradas se guardarán hasta en 30 posiciones preestablecidas (si se
sintonizan tantas).
Alternativamente, puede sintonizarlas manualmente. Mantenga pulsadas las teclas
«Anterior o Siguiente» durante unos segundos para sintonizar la siguiente emisora de
FM disponible. Guarde la emisora encontrada en «Preselección» si quiere conservarla.
Para obtener una mejor recepción y encontrar más emisoras, pruebe a ajustar la antena
o reposicionar la radio (más cerca de una ventana, por ejemplo).

elija (Estéreo permitido) o (Mono forzado)
Nota: Si su señal es débil, «Mono forzado» puede ofrecer un sonido más claro y
mejor equilibrado.

Bluetooth
Utilice la tecla de modo 10 para seleccionar el Bluetooth, asegúrese de que su
dispositivo esté en modo Bluetooth.Daybreak buscará el último dispositivo
conectado y parpadeará el icono de Bluetooth. Si el último dispositivo conectado
no está disponible.
Daybreak buscará otros dispositivos y aparecerá en el menú Bluetooth de su dispos-
itivo como «i-box Daybreak».Seleccione Daybreak y aparecerá el icono «BT» en la
pantalla del Daybreak cuando se realiza la conexión correctamente.

Función suspensión (en modo FM/Bluetooth/pistas de sonidos naturales)
Esta función es ideal si desea escuchar la radio, su dispositivo Bluetooth o una de las
pistas de sonidos naturales mientras se duerme.
Puede configurar su Daybreak para que se apague automáticamente cuando haya
pasado la hora seleccionada (en minutos).
Reproducir la radio FM, su dispositivo Bluetooth o seleccione y reproduzca una pista
de sonidos naturales y, a continuación, siga la siguiente configuración:
