Money management—as she makes a budget, takes orders and handles customers’ money. 4. People skills—as she learns to talk and listen to all kinds of people while selling cookies. 5. Business ethics—as she is honest and responsible every step of the way.
Quick Note on Palm Oil • Since 2015, all Girl Scout Cookies baked by LBB contain RSPO Certified (Mass Balance) Palm Oil. This Mass Balance System ensures that the palm oil LBB uses contributes to the production of environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable palm oil. • There is currently only one supplier in North America that offers RSPO- certified segregated version of the ingredients LBB uses, so supply is limited. As a socially responsible company, Little Brownie’s goal is to secure a 100% deforestation-free and exploitation-free palm oil supply chain, and they are working hard with partners to make the complex shifts necessary to achieve this goal.
Quick Note on Cookie Packaging • Most paperboard and corrugate packaging contains recycled fiber or 100% recycled paperboard • Plastic trays are recyclable (in select markets) • Many Little Brownie materials are printed on paper made from recycled materials as certified by the Forest Stewardship Council • LBB’s goal is for all packaging to be made from post- consumer recycled material that is Recyclable, Reusable, or Compostable • Ferrara is a signatory of the Global Commitment for a Circular Economy for Plastic, committed to 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging by 2025
Caregiver Role in the Cookie Program Girls succeed when families get involved. You can support your girl by giving her love, guidance, and inspiration. There are also some specific responsibilities you’ll need to assume to ensure your girl achieves her goals: • Ensure your Girl Scout Juliette does not take orders prior to sale start date on January 1, 2022. • Collect payment upon delivery, not before. Be sure to turn over all funds to your Product Sales Coordinator at Council. • Remember that cookies cannot be returned to council once signed for. • Accept financial responsibility for all cookies and money received. • The cookie program helps girls learn honesty and fairness. Please understand that failure to account for money and cookies received will be considered misappropriation of funds. • Help your Girl Scout Juliette set goals and coach her on how to sell.
