Our extended bonus days of nice weather have come to an end and we
start 2022 with more traditional winter weather. It was a joy to see so
much golf through December and into the holidays. We are progressing
on the plan for new sand bunkers. The final bids for the work are due
the first week of January and we will be presenting these bids to the
Board of Directors in their January 13 Board meeting. We hope to select
the contractor at that meeting and get going on the project as weather
permits. I will keep you posted along the way and promise to put the
final plan and details in the February ClubLife.
As we come up on the end of our prior lease, we are using this slower
time to analyze our turf equipment needs for 2022. We hope to add a...

on December 4th on #4, Chris Cardello on December 14th on #4
and Aaron Potter on December 24th on #4! We have some different
options for our members to save 20% on their monthly dues with
our Challenger and Champion programs. The Challenger program
is available to members coming off a new member promotion and
with a $1000 initiation fee will get 20% off dues only for 3 years. The
Champion program is available for members paying full current rate
dues and with a $2500 initiation fee will get 20% off dues only for 10
years. These options are not available to anyone on the Snow Bird
dues plan or New Member Promotional Pricing.

FOR LEE'S SUMMIT.
Diane Forte, Raintree resident, small business owner and two-term Council Member, known for her outgoing personality and approachable demeanor, has
announced she is running for Mayor of Lee’s Summit. “I want to thank the residents of District 1 for allowing me to serve as their Council Member since 2014.
I have enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful people and am proud to have been a part of the leadership for the past eight years. I’m running for
Mayor as I am confident I can continue to make positive and necessary progress in the growth and development of our community.”
Aside from her two terms as council member, Diane has served as the Community Service Director for the Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit, Chair of the
Promotions Committee, and on the Board of Directors for Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street, Chairman of the Board for the Lee’s Summit Chamber of
Commerce, and is a member of the Advisory Board for Saint Luke’s Hospital.
Diane was first elected to City Council in 2014. In 2015, she was elected by her peers to serve as the Mayor Pro Tempore of the City Council. As a council
member, Diane has also served in leadership roles as Chair of the Finance and Budget Committee, Chair of the Community and Economic Development
Committee, Chair of the Homeless Coalition, along with multiple liaison assignments. “My work on the Finance and Budget Committee and the CEDC, has
given me the experience and first-hand knowledge of where we have been, where we are going, and what is needed to get to the next level.”
Diane’s passion for Lee’s Summit is unrivaled. In her time on the City Council, she has focused on responsible community growth, whether it be residential
or commercial, and the need for additional and continual public input. Diane has never taken for granted the value of the numerous volunteers in Lee’s
Summit and her leadership has been consistent with her values. “I love Lee’s Summit. I am humbled that you have chosen me in the past and hope that you
will allow me to serve you in the future as the Mayor of Lee’s Summit.”

On December 17th, Susie Newsam hosted the LOWGA Christmas
party. Even some of WGA’s past members joined in on the fun. It’s
always a great time with these women, especially when we get to
see some of the members who have left LOWGA for one reason or
