PALMA 2021-2022 PARENTS’ CLUB PALMA PARENTS’ CLUB MISSION: The purpose of the Parents’ Club is to build a sense of community among all Palma parents, to support the endeavors of Palma School, and to assist in the implementation of the school’s Mission Statement. The Parents’ Club is not a policy-making group; it plans and carries out functions which provide hospitality for parents and staff. Events include a beginning-of-year Taste of Palma Mixer for Parents and Staff, an annual Mother-Son event for high school students, the Senior Baccalaureate Breakfast for graduating senior and members of the faculty, and an end-of-year Staff Appreciation Luncheon, to name a few. Every parent is a member of the Parents’ Club by virtue of having a son enrolled at Palma. Parents’ Club is currently looking to fill the position of Secretary for the upcoming year. Executive members are normally appointed to two-year terms by the Principal. The President also serves on the Principal’s Advisory Council (PAC). The Parents’ Club is a parent advisory voice for the school, representing all Palma Parents. Meetings are usually held on or near the third Monday of each month at 5:00pm in the Cislini Study Center (CSC), with the exception of December and May. All current parents are encouraged to participate. Without the involvement of our many fine and dedicated parents, none of this would be possible. We encourage all Palma parents to get involved in Palma Parents’ Club by attending meetings, being an event chair or volunteering for one of our many events. 2021-2022 MONTHLY PARENTS’ CLUB MEETINGS – IN THE CISLINI STUDY CENTER AT 5:00pm August 23, 2021 November 15, 2021 March 21, 2022 September 20, 2021 January 24, 2022 April 25, 2022 October 18, 2021 February 28, 2022 May 23, 2022 PARENTS’ CLUB EVENTS & ACTIVITIES 2021-2022 PALMA SCHOOL YEAR *Taste of Palma Mixer for Parents & Staff – Friday, August 20, 2021 *NHS Induction Ceremonies – Dates TBA Paint Nite – Date TBA **See’s Candies Christmas Fund Raiser – Fall/Winter 2021 *Fall Semester Honor Roll Program – Tuesday, February 1, 2022 *Mother-Son Dinner & Dance – Saturday, February 12, 2022 **See’s Candies Easter Fund Raiser – Spring 2022 **St. Patrick’s Luncheon – Wednesday, March 16, 2022 *Founder’s Day BBQ – Thursday, April 28, 2022 *Jr. High Academic Awards Program – Wednesday, May 4, 2022 *HS Academic Awards Program – Wednesday, May 11, 2022 *Senior Graduation Breakfast – Friday, May 27, 2022 *Staff Appreciation Luncheon – Tuesday, May 31, 2022 *Events that provide hospitality/promote inclusive culture, and do not generate money for the Parents’ Club **Events that raise funds to support Parents’ Club PLEASE KEEP THIS PAGE AS A REFERENCE OF ALL PARENTS’ CLUB EVENTS DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR
