Class of 2022 Academic Awards f In recognition of their academic excellence, students in the top 3% of the class at the end of the first semester were recognized at the Honors Convocation of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The recipient of this award is a member of the senior class who possesses many of the same qualities that made Mrs. Scalpato so very dear to us. Those characteristics include a: • Talent and passion for math and science, an insightful intellect, and a strong curiosity • Determined will • Strong sense of family • Great sense of humor • Love of the arts and traveling The Debra Furia Scalpato ’74 Math & Science Award is presented this year to: Maeve Hegarty
f Phi Beta Kappa Association of the Delaware Valley The Phi Beta Kappa Association of the Delaware Valley presents an award to a graduating senior who exhibits “academic achievement, character and a love of wisdom and learning as the guide of life.” This year’s book, Finding the Mother Tree: Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest by Suzanne Simard, a story from the world’s leading forest ecologist who forever changed how people view trees and their connections to one another and to other living things in the forest—a moving, deeply personal journey of discovery. The book is presented to: Grace Donnelly f VHS Learning Scholarship Award The following award recipient represented both MMA and The Montgomery Virtual Program and was selected from 25 applicants for this honor. The VHS Learning Scholarship Award is presented to: Ashley Hackney f Nina Gilbert earned two gold medals in the ACT-SO Achievement Program from the NAACP, Philadelphia Chapter. Nina was awarded these gold medals for Painting and for Illustration.
