Ringing of the Bell

Welcome
Choral Introit (11:00) “Hosanna” Christian Gregor
Call to Worship
Leader: Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!
People: Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem!
Leader: Lo, your King comes to you; triumphant and victorious is He,
People humble, and riding a donkey.

*Hymn #197 “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna” ELLACOMBE

Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Eternal God: In Jesus You entered Jerusalem to die for our sins. We confess
that we have not hailed You as King, or gone before You in the world with
praise. For brief faith that fades in trouble, for enthusiasms that fizzle out,
for hopes we parade but do not pursue, have mercy on us. Forgive us, God,
and give us such trust in Your power that, we may live for justice and tell of
Your loving kindness; for the sake of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Silent Reflection

Response #227 “Jesus, Remember Me” REMEMBER ME
                                    (sung twice)

Declaration of Pardon
Leader: Friends, believe the Gospel. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
     People: Thanks be to God!

The Passing of the Peace
Leader: The peace of Jesus Christ be with you all!
     People: And also with you.

Sermon “A Holy Week” Dr. Steve Eason

*Affirmation of Faith- The Apostles’ Creed p. 35 Hymnal
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in
Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead,
and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the
dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the
Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the
dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion
of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life
      everlasting. Amen.
*Doxology #607 “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow” Old 100th

Anthem (11:00) “Ride On, Ride On in Majesty” Mark Shepperd
Hosanna, hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Ride on, ride on in majesty! Hark! All the tribes hosanna cry:
O Savior meek, pursue they road with palms and scattered garments strowed.
Ride on, ride in majesty! In lowly pomp ride on to die.
O Christ thy triumphs now begin o’er captive death and conquered sin.
Ride on, ride in majesty! In lowly pomp ride on to die.
Bow thy meek head to mortal pain, then take, O God, thy power and reign.
Hosanna, hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the names of the Lord!

People: We lift them to the Lord.
Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
