UPCOMING NO-SCHOOL DAYS
This is just a reminder that there is no school on the following dates:
March 22 – 26 (Spring Break)
April 2 – Good Friday
May 31 – Memorial Day

SPRING AIR END-OF-COURSE EXAMS
The administration of Ohio’s End-of-Course (EOC) exams to students in grades 9, 10, and 11 taking specific subjects will
begin in April. These exams are aligned with Ohio’s graduation requirements. Students must accumulate a minimum number
of graduation points on these end-of-course exams in order to be eligible to graduate. Students will accumulate points through
completing exams in the following courses: Algebra, American History, Biology, English 10, Geometry, and Government.

The schedule of testing dates and subjects is enclosed.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) EXAM SCHEDULE
The College Board has provided the opportunity for schools to offer AP exams as paper-pencil or digital. Schools were also
provided the option for some digital exams to be taken at school or at home. The 2021 AP Exam schedule for Orange High
School is included on a following page for your review. If you have questions about the AP exam, please see your child’s
AP teacher or OHS Guidance Counselor Amanda McDonald at extension 2608.

COMMENCEMENT 2021
The location for the Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2021 has been changed for this year and will be held at
Lewis Black Stadium on the campus of the Orange Schools. Additional information regarding seating, parking, and times
will be made available soon.

PROM
OHS Prom will take place on Saturday, April 24 at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Initially, tickets will only be sold to
current Orange High School students in grades 11 and 12. If capacity limits permit additional attendees, students will be
notified. Similar to previous years, students will be transported by school bus to the event from Orange High School.

SENIOR PARENT INFORMATION
Thank you to all senior parents who have paid this year's senior dues, which are $60.00. You can pay by cash, check (made
out to Orange Board of Education), or online through Pay-For-It. If paying by check or cash please have your student drop
the payment off in student services.

Senior dues are not mandatory however the dues will help cover the cost of: Senior diner, Senior t-shirt, and senior gift to
student. In order to participate in these Senior activities, the dues must be paid. Also, a Google form was sent out to all
seniors asking for their T-shirt size. I will need all the sizes complete before an order can be placed. Please make sure your
senior has submitted this form. If you have questions, please contact the Sr. Class Adviser at mfludine@orangecsd.org.
SENIOR FEES & FIINES
This a reminder that school fee balances must be paid in full before students in the Class of 2021 can receive their diploma
in May. The statements were mailed the week of February 1. Payments can be made at payschoolscentral.com or by
sending a check/money order to Orange Board of Education: Attention Student Services. If you have any questions
regarding a fee, please reach out to Stephanie Sentle in Student Services Office at ssentle@orangecsd.org or 216-831-8600

ATTENDANCE
In order to report a student absent from their scheduled remote learning class, standard attendance rules apply. If you need
to report your child absent, please contact OHS Attendance at ohsattendance@orangecsd.org or via phone at extension 2210.

An Excellent Education includes the Arts! The Orange Patronaires organization helps support Band, Orchestra, Choir and
Thespians at Orange High School. Patronaires depend on membership dollars to help pay for uniforms, scholarships,
awards, instruments, receptions and other activities to help make these programs fantastic! This year Patronaires will also

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

NEW SCHOLARSHIPS:
National Congress of Black Women: Great Cleveland Chapter
Available for graduating seniors who are immediately continuing their education at the beginning of the next academic
year and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students must be able to demonstrate their commitment to community service and
involvement. Applicants must complete an essay detailing their professional and academic goals, creativity, or service.
Application can be found on Mrs. Petronsky’s classroom.

Believe in Ohio Statewide STEM Scholarship Program
Open to current high school juniors and seniors who have distinguished themselves in a rigorous STEM or
entrepreneurship competition, research project, or published manuscript that demonstrates the applicant’s potential to
become a future innovator. Students must submit an application, high school transcript, essay, and two letters of
recommendation. Application and scholarship details can be found on Mrs. Petronsky’s classroom.

Orange High School Alumni Scholarship
Awarded to one or more students based on academic success, extra-curricular activities, community/volunteer activities
and work experience. Applicants must be the child of an Orange alumni parent, a senior at Orange High School who is
planning to enter an accredited college or university in the fall, and pursue a full-time course of study on an undergraduate
basis. The parent must be a lifetime member of the Alumni Association prior to March 21, 2021 for student to be eligible
for a scholarship. The Alumni Association enrollment process can be found of the scholarship application, located on Mrs.
Petronsky’s classroom.

To Apply- Complete application and include a copy of your transcript and SAT/ACT scores as well as letter of
recommendation. Application form can be found under the “Scholarships” tab on Mrs. Petronsky’s classroom.

Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland
The JFSA offers $1,000,000 in need-based scholarships to local Jewish students. Visit the website below to view a list of

Chagrin Valley Rotary Academic and Vocational Scholarships
Students pursuing a vocational degree may apply for vocational scholarship, those pursuing bachelor’s degrees apply for
academic scholarships. Scholarships may range up to $3,000 and are awarded based on need, community service, academic
achievement, extracurricular activities, recommendation and student essay.

James T. & Rose M. Perryman Family Foundation
Open to graduating seniors who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and are planning to pursue a college major in engineering,
math, metals, or technology. Also open to students planning on attending a trade school in welding, machine shop,
mechatronics, networking, automation or a technology based program.

Fields of Learning Scholarship
Complete an essay with the theme “Something I learned related to high school football.” This scholarship is available to
all seniors, not just football players. Essay should be between 500-1500 words.

Ohio Gas Association Scholarship Foundation
Open to Ohio residents planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, university, technical, or trade school and pursue a
career in the natural gas or related energy field. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Application must include an essay and
two letters of recommendation.

Kiwanis Scholarship
Open to graduating high school students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and anticipate
enrollment in a two (2) or four (4) year college or accredited vocational school. To apply, please complete the application
and provide a one-page, double spaced essay that describes your academic achievement, extracurricular and community
involvement. Applicants must also have two letters of recommendation from either a teacher, guidance
counselor, or school administrator and transcript. Applications should be submitted to the OHS Guidance
Office. The guidance office will add your recommendation letters and transcript. Kiwanis application is
posted on Mrs. Petronsky’s classroom

The National Catholic College Admission Association Scholarship
The National CCAA Scholarship is offered to college-bound high school seniors who are planning to attend one of the
National CCAA member institutions in the fall. National CCAA member institutions are listed on their website.

Medical Mutual Scholarship
We are pleased to announce the enhanced Medical Mutual Scholarship Fund for Customer Schools. Through this program,
seniors graduating from Ohio school districts that carry Medical Mutual insurance are now eligible to apply online for a
one-time $1,000 scholarship toward college tuition. Additionally, six top applicants across the state will receive a $10,000
award for their outstanding academic and community service efforts.
