When is the deadline for Seniors to apply
for Local Scholarships?

LOCAL Scholarship applications are ready for you to fill out!
This is your chance to win FREE money for college. These are LOCAL
scholarships that are awarded on your senior honors night.
Follow these easy directions to start the process:
1. Go to google classroom.
2. Click the plus sign (+)
3. Enter the class code: z4ffurr
4. “2021 Scholarships” will appear
5. Read and follow directions carefully. Scroll down through the many scholarship
opportunities and start filling them out. Someone has to win and it may be YOU!

And remember, DUE DATE for ALL scholarships is March 5, 2021!

Student Council Reminder
All Student Council applications are due by tomorrow,
Friday, February 12th, before the end of the school
day to Mrs. Martin in room 263.
Students will be selling candy grams in front of the
main office before and after school this week:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, for $1.00!
Help celebrate Valentine’s Day and buy a sweet
for your sweetheart!
The Candy Grams will be delivered during
Team Time on Friday.

The Main and West parking lots are now full.
The only parking lot available for purchase is the East lot.
You MUST have a parking permit to park on campus.
If you park on campus without one, you will be ticketed.
If you park in the DAE or bus parking you will be ticketed and
you may be towed.
Don’t have a parking permit??
If you are a SENIOR, JUNIOR, OR SOPHOMORE, you MUST
have a current parking permit to park on campus!!
Pick up a DHS Vehicle Registration form at the front office, com-
plete it and have a parent sign it.
Provide your driver license & vehicle registration.
Pay $10 online at the Davison schools e-Funds site OR you can pay
cash or check at the front office.
Once all of the above items have been completed, you will be
assigned the next available parking spot.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS
WHO PARK ON CAMPUS!!
PLEASE make sure you are parking in the parking spot which has been assigned to you!
If someone is in your spot, please do not shift to the next spot as that is also
someone’s parking spot! If this happens, park in the front drop off area and
come to the front office to get a temporary parking permit for the day.
Also, please take a picture of the car license plate and/or permit # so that
we can track down who is parked in your spot.

Family Resource Available for Families of Online Students
Davison Community Schools has added a new resource from the Department
of Education geared toward students and families enrolled in online learning. It is
attached below and can also be found at the "Online Learning" quick link on the
homepage of our website.

NEW DEADLINE FOR JOSTENS GRADUATION ORDERS!
Mr. Jacobs recently sent an email out to both parents and seniors regarding
a NEW deadline for ordering Jostens graduation orders.
The new date is now
Monday, March 1st, 2021.
If you have any questions, you can contact us at 810-591-3531 or stop
at the front office at the High School.

Another County Wide FAFSA Night has been
scheduled to help you complete your FAFSA.
This is a Free Application for Federal Student Aid
to apply for financial aid for college.

ATTENTION PARENTS: Senior Highlights
To celebrate our seniors during this historic time, we will be highlighting several
students in each month’s DHS Insider. If you would like to get your senior involved,
please email Jane Morrison at jmorrison@davisonschools.org with the
subject line: Senior Highlights—(Student’s Name).
The parameters of this project include the following:
Less than 250 words, 1-3 pictures of the student, student’s high school
accomplishments, future life plans, current goals, hobbies, and a
little message from your family, if desired.
All entries may be edited for space and appropriateness.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Morrison, or call DHS at 810-591-3531.
We would love to get as much participation as possible to celebrate all of the
hard work these seniors have put in during the past four years.
Interested in getting a job but do not know where to start?
If you are age 14-19, in 9th-12th grade, and want to learn important skills to
help you get and keep a job, then TeenQuest is for you!
TeenQuest is a FREE, Pre-Employment Leadership and Training program
designed with teens in mind and focuses on providing a basic understanding
of skills that will prepare you to STAND OUT and give you an edge
professionally and personally.
TeenQuest is current a virtual program and the next session starts
February 18th. To apply, please go to their website at:

school. Order forms can be picked up in the
front office at the high school.

Parents, please be aware that there must be a third person in the meeting
(parent, sibling, another student being tutored) for transparency reasons.

Student Support & Tutoring
DHS is offering student help time every school day,
Monday through Friday, from 2:11pm to 2:41pm.
During this help time, DHS teachers will be supporting and tutoring
our students in either Google Meet/Zoom meeting, or in a face to face meeting.
Please contact your teacher(s) for support or tutoring.

10Care Team Hospice Opportunities
The Care Team Hospice is currently looking for volunteers for two programs.
The first is a pen-pal program with current patients in hospice care.
This opportunity requires student consent agreeing to not share any patient
information as well as a parent consent if they are under 18.
The second opportunity is for in-person volunteering with hospice patients providing
companionship/caregiver respite. To volunteer for this position, you must be 16 years
old and have a valid state ID/driver’s license for a background check.
You will also need to have a negative TB test and to attending training. This oppor-
tunity is mainly on hold due to COVID restrictions, however, we are still
contacting interested volunteers to create their file with the intent to continue
onboarding them as restrictions are lifted.

11Athletic Signing Ceremony Dates 2020-2021
The athletic signing ceremonies for the 2020-2021 school year
are planned for the following dates:
Wednesday, April 14, 2021
These ceremonies will be held in the auditorium at 5:00pm.
If you are signing a letter of intent to play your sport at the collegiate level, please
stop by the athletic office to sign up for one of these signing ceremony dates.
