It was absolutely amazing to see the respect the students showed at the service. Last week we had stage 3 students out for Netball, Choral festival, cross country, excursions and sports trials and this week our Stage 3 excursion, PSSA softball and PSSA netball. This is a busy term for stage 3 students and we apologise for everything happening in one week, however many of these events are out of our control and dates are set across schools. I would like to thank all of the parents who went to watch and helped with transport, the staff and students appreciate your support. Mother’s Day The Mother’s Day stall is happening this week on Friday. This is a P & C event and we thank all of the volunteers for setting this up for the students to shop and provide gifts for their mothers and significant others. Parent teacher interviews At school we are blessed to have such open lines of communication with parents where our teachers make themselves readily available to discuss issues. This has traditionally meant that we do not have formal parent/teacher interviews. This year we have decided to send invitations to several families to discuss any issues that may be challenging to talk about via incidental means. Not all families will be receiving an invite however, if you would like to have a formal sit- down discussion with your child’s teacher please contact them directly via class dojo. Kindergarten 2022 We are currently taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2022. If you have a student’s staring school next year or know of families who have, please jump online to https://enrol.education.nsw.gov.au/#/?schoolCode=3528&catchmentLevel=primary and complete the enrolment forms so we can start to plan our numbers. You can also access the online enrolment on our website via the enrolment tab. Once the application process has been completed, parents all need to bring their 100 points of ID into the school office. The Online Enrolment System is now up and running. This system is designed to provide flexibility for our parents to submit an enrolment application online and at the time that suits you best. The applications can be accessed on all browsers and mobile devices including iOS and Android. The online application process is currently restricted to: · Enrolments into local schools only · Children who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent residents · Children who live in NSW We offer our support and encourage you to complete your application to enrol online. If, however, you do not feel comfortable completing an application online, a paper copy will be available for collection from the front office or can be downloaded from the Department’s going to a public-school site. Kindest regards, David Ireland, Principal

Head lice and hair care We have had several cases of head lice recently. Please check your child’s hair regularly and treat and remove eggs as required. Remember to check and retreat hair after 7 days to ensure no eggs or louse have been missed. If you child’s hair is collar length or longer then it should be tied up to help minimise the risks of transmission. Please wash hats regularly to help keep them clean. Congratulations to all of our students who competed at the Tuggerah Lakes Zone Cross Country last week. Well done everyone. P&C News P&C Meeting Our next P&C meeting will be on Monday 17th May at 7.15pm both in person at school and via Zoom. Zoom meeting details will be posted. Hope to see you there. School pavers Last chance to get your pavers orders in. We are starting to finalise numbers so if you would like to order please get it done ASAP before you miss out. Orders close at the end of May. Mother’s Day Stall – Friday 7th May We are pleased to be able to hold our Mother’s Day stall again this year. This is a fun activity for the students and they have a great time choosing a gift for Mum. For all of our new parents from this year and last year, as well as reminder for everyone else, here is how the stall works as it maybe a little different from other schools Donation of gifts – we ask that families donate a gift up to the value of $10 to the stall. Unfortunately, as a small school, we do not have the ability to purchase gifts so have found that this is a great way of getting a variety of gifts. These can be dropped given to Kaylene in the office up until Thursday 6th May. Buying of gifts – every child from a family that has donated a gift will be able to purchase a gift from the stall for $5. If we have any excess gifts then these will be made available to any child that did not donate but has their $5. Gifts can be anything you feel is appropriate for a Mother’s Day stall, remember you may get it back so make sure you would want it Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea and Meet & Greet – Friday 7th May To celebrate all of our wonderful Mum’s the P&C will be holding a Mother’s Day Afternoon on Friday 7th May. Mum’s, Grandmothers, Aunties and Carers are all welcome to attend. The tea will start at 2pm so that we all have a chance to relax, chat and get to know each other before the children finish. As we had to postpone our Meet and Greet last term due to the rain and floods we have arranged with Mr Ireland to hold it at school on the same day, Friday 7th May, from afternoon bell. This will follow nicely from our afternoon tea and will be a great opportunity for the rest of the family to join all the Mum’s to get to know each other. If you would like to bring snacks to share for the meet and greet that would be great. It would be wonderful to see as many Mums, Grandmothers and Aunties at the afternoon tea as possible and then all of the families afterward Take Care Reneé Perkins Lacy & Donna Jones
