Thank you to all involved. A person who is taught at home, will stand collected on the Marae (A child who is given proper values at home and cherished within his/her family, will not only behave well amongst the family but also within society and throughout his/her life.) Tēnā koutou katoa Mid term break has arrived and I’m sure all students and teachers are looking forward to a while deserved break. It has been a very busy and productive half a year for everyone. Finally, we would like to thank you all for your continuous support so far this year. We wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday break and see you all in Term 3. Mā te atua e manaaki, e tiaki i a koutou katoa i ngā rā whakatā. Mauri Ora Covid 19 Level 1 update Next term, we will be looking at returning back to our normal break times with measures in place. We are still encouraging personal hygiene and drinking fountains will be in operation. However we are mindful that there are still cases in New Zealand and we will be ready and prepared to take action if needed. Please remember for next term: - If your child is sick or unwell, please keep them at home and contact the school. - All visitors, students and teachers are expected to sanitize their hands when entering and exiting classrooms and buildings. If your child has a sore throat, you can take him/her to the Far North Pharmacy, without an appointment, where iMoko staff will check their throat and prescribe antibiotics without swabbing, with your consent, if they meet the following criteria; ● Maori or Pacific decent ● Family history of rheumatic fever ● Child has history of positive strep throat ● Child has family members with history of positive strep throat If any children meet any of the criteria and have a sore throat, please encourage whanau to come see the iMOKO team at Far North Pharmacy. We have a limited number of these new items to give Mufti Day - 19th June - Sport Theme away to our students. If you would like one for your child either call in to see us or contact us and we can see if we have the right size. These do not replace our uniform jacket & pants, but they can be used at home. Please remember to name any clothing your child wears at school! We already have new jackets being handed into the office with no names! Ministry of Education Support “Are you worried about your child’s learning, or their behaviour at their school or early childhood centre? • Does your child have difficulty speaking, hearing or learning? • Managing their behaviour or getting on with others? • Seeing properly, or have other unmet needs or differences that set them apart from others? These things can affect their progress and wellbeing. Te Manawa Tahi is a learning support hub, held at the school, where you can come and talk to education professionals (RTLBs, Learning Support) about your child’s learning needs. It is a free service. Look for our flag flying outside the school on 13 August 2020 from 9:30am to 12:00pm. All are welcome, no appointment needed.
