4th INTERNATIONAL GOALBALL TOURNAMENT
“CIUTAT DE BARCELONA” 2023
Based on our previous successful editions since 2018, it is a pleasure to invite you to the forth
International Goalball Tournament "Ciutat de Barcelona" for international teams. The event
will take place from 1st, 2nd and 3rd December 2023 in Barcelona, Spain. This invitation is open
to female and male teams and international referees. We organize a competition composed of
4 male teams, 4 female teams and 6 international referees.
It is an honour for us to organize, for the fourth year, this tournament, since the Barcelona City
Council only allows a small group of international tournaments per year. To include the
Goalball, a sport so minority and important for our group, within the offer of international
tournaments allows us to continue offering the opportunity to participate in a unique
tournament in the city of Barcelona.

We want to take advantage of this special occasion to organize a cultural event at the closing
ceremony of the tournament, since we consider it a fun way and an opportunity to exhibit
traditional acts of the local city.
General Information
The tournament will take place on December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of December in Barcelona.
Arrival: Friday, December 1st, before 11 a.m.
Technical Meeting: Friday, December 1st at 2 p.m.
Competition: Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of December.
Closing ceremony: Sunday, December 3rd at 1 p.m.
Departure: Sunday, December 3rd h from 6 p.m.
➢ There will be a coach meeting on Friday at 2 p.m. to inform about the details of the
competition.
➢ There will be an attendance office for participants to solve any question you may have.
➢ Meals: The breakfasts of the participants in the ONIX Hotel will be held in the same
hotel and the rest at the ONCE restaurant. Lunch and dinner will be all made at the
ONCE bar (within the sport installation).
➢ There will be a physiotherapy service throughout the championship.
Members
Teams required:
➢ 4 male internationals teams or national Goalball Teams.
➢ 4 female internationals teams or national Goalball Teams.
Competition control:
➢ National Referees: Eduard Martínez.
➢ 5 places for foreign referees
➢ Court: 6 table judges
➢ 2 spikers
➢ 1 track manager
➢ 4 goal judges per match Organization

Place and accommodation
Teams will compete for the championship in the sports facilities of the Spanish Organisation of
the blind (ONCE Catalunya) located close to Plaza de España:
1 Sepulveda Street; 08015 Barcelona
How to get:
➢ There is direct connexion by bus, underground and train.
➢ Barcelona – El Prat Airport is located just 20 min from the sports and accommodation
facilities.
➢ The tournament organization offers a round trip service from Barcelona-El Prat Airport
or any train station.
➢ Those teams that move in a private vehicle will have a parking space at their disposal
within the ONCE building during the tournament.
Male teams will be staying at the 3-star hotel ONIX Fira Barcelona Hotel (30 Llança Street;
08015 Barcelona) which is located within walking distance (roughly two minutes) from the
ONCE Catalunya where the competition will take place, and female teams will be staying at
ONCE residence, located inside the same building of the tournament. If the women's teams
wish to stay at the hotel, they must pay the same fee of registration as the male teams.

First phase: all-in-one league
Final phase:
➢ Semi-final 1: 1st - 4th
➢ Semi-final 2: 2nd - 3rd
➢ Final 1: 3rd and 4th place.
➢ Final 2: 1st and 2nd place.

Prizes
The prices of the registration at the 4th International Goalball Tournament CIUTAT DE
BARCELONA are:
➢ 2.000€ per registered male team club (up to 8 members per team). Every
additional member of delegation will be asked to pay a fee of 300€.
➢ 1000€ per registered female team club (up to 6 members per team). Every
additional member of delegation will be asked to pay a fee of 300€.
Each extra night (arrivals Thursday afternoon) cost 400€ per male team and 400€ per female
team.
The price includes:
-2 nights of accommodation at the ÒNIX Fira Barcelona Hotel or Residence ONCE Catalunya.
-Meals:
➢ Lunch and dinner on Friday 1st.
➢ Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday 2nd.
➢ Breakfast and lunch on Sunday 3rd.
-Organizational expenses.
-Transportation at airport to sports facilities or hotel.
- Service de physiotherapy.
- Live broadcast of the competitions.

Inscriptions
Before 20th September Fill out the completed «first entry form» and sending to:
gerencia@fcecs.cat. Payment a first fee of 500€.
Before 24th of October Fill out and send the «second entry form» and sending
to: gerencia@fcecs.cat. Pay the remaining amount. In the
case of men's teams, 1500€, if women's teams, 500€, and
attach payment receipts on both forms.
