Meet with Indigenous People seeks to promote the 11 Indigenous Nations in Quebec through artistic and musical performances, discussions on traditional knowledge, a cultural exchange and much more. This awareness event intends to: Bring indigenous and non-indigenous people together and contribute to their reconciliation. Create opportunities for cultural exchanges and interactions to break down stereotypes and fight against racism and discrimination. Contribute to the promotion of the talent of Indigenous artists and offer them an opportunity to be discovered by the public at the local, national and international levels. Produce professional shows and artistic performances of the First Nations and Inuit of Quebec. Promote traditional knowledge and raise awareness of the realities and issues that affect Indigenous People. Create employment, internship and volunteer opportunities. Three editions were held in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The 2020 edition had to be cancelled due to the COVID- 19. The event has had an extremely positive reception from the public and the media with more than 30000 visitors visiting the site over the four days in previous editions.
