When: August 4th – September 30th Where: “Farmers’ Market of Grayson County” Facebook Page How does it work: All thr ough August we’ll be posting different challenges on the Farmers’ Market Facebook page. Participants will have all of August and September to complete these challenges. They can complete them at their own pace and in whatever order. How to Enter: Complete however many challenges you’d like; Comment “done” or post a photo within the comment on the Facebook post on the corresponding challenge you have completed. Every challenge completed will be counted as one (1) entry. Action = Complete the action listed Learn = Read the corresponding educational info included in the Facebook post Make = Make the item listed Share = Complete the action listed How to win: The top 3 individuals with the most entr ies will win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. Action: Make: Visit the Farmers' Market of Grayson County Make an omelet using market eggs and produce Bring your own reusable bag or basket to the market Make bruschetta (page 28-29) Have a taco night with beef and produce from the market Cook corn in a new way (page 12-13) Freeze for later (page 33) Make a stir-fry with market produce (page 30-31) Cook in season (page 33) Make a smoothie with market produce (page 20-21) Try a new fruit or veggie Make something with cucumbers (page 14-15) Run into a friend at the market Make a salad with produce from the market (page 18-19) Try a baked good from the market Bake some zucchini bread or sticks (page 30-31) Go on a Farmer's Market day with a friend Share: Host a family dinner with produce from the market Share a melon with a friend (page 20-21) Find a gift for a friend at the market Share a simple snack (page 32) Buy something new for your home Have a corn shucking contest and share a video of it! Boots & Spurs Wild at Art Club Currently not meeting. This year, we are making plans to have an advanced group and a beginners group. To gauge the level of the participants, there will be a meeting on Thursday, September 16 at 4:00 at the Extension Office. Shooting Sports This is the kick off to a new season, so new Trap Monday’s– 5:00PM– AG Park members are highly encouraged to attend! Archery Tuesday’s– 5:00- AG Park Gear up for mum fundraiser; info on flyer on front page. Contact Hope for more info. Meetings will continue on regular scheduled basis through the end of September.
