Art of the City
Overview:
From the arts to the great outdoors, prominent thinkers of the Renaissance period held a
number of interests, earning them the nickname "Renaissance Men." In our “Art of the City”
series, we bring that 17th century concept into the modern travel world. Every month we
showcase how to have a well-rounded getaway of art, gastronomy and nature in cities
across the U.S. Follow us for a worldly weekend that Da Vinci himself would be proud of.

Length: 1,000 – 1,500 words

Location: Any city in the US or Canada
Structure: Introduction to the city
Art of the Hotel: recommendation for a theme-appropriate trivago-listed hotel
Art of the Meal: recommendation for 3 restaurants/eating experiences
Art of the Drink (optional): recommendation for 1-2 bars/breweries
Art of the, Well, Art: recommendation for 1 art/music/dance/theatre experience
Art of the Outdoors: recommendation for 1 nature/outdoor experience
            Short conclusion

Pet Travel
Overview:
For many in the U.S., our furry little friends are just as much a part of the family as anyone
else riding along in the car. Unfortunately, not everyone is on board with four-legged
companions. Finding pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, and things to do can be a chore. That’s
where this series comes in to save the day.
We’re looking for pet travelers to share their stories and recommendations for travel across
North America. Start us off with a story of traveling with your pet and tell us about the pet-
friendly hotels (must be listed on trivago with deals), restaurants, and activities you’ve
experienced first-hand so readers planning a trip to your area with their pet will feel a little
less panicked as that holiday weekend inches closer.

Length: 800-1,000 words

Location: Any city in the US or Canada

                                                                                                   12

Dream Hotel
Overview: Certain hotels stick out of the pack and are destinations in and of themselves.
These are the dream hotels – hotels with a story and/or details inextricably linked with
the destination. Maybe it’s the hotel where John Lennon and Yoko Ono had their famous
“Bed-In For Peace.” Or maybe there’s something quirky, like The Peabody in Memphis
where five ducks march through the lobby every day to bathe in the travertine marble
fountain. Whatever the case may be, this is an opportunity for travelers to learn more
about the world’s most fascinating, and of course, dreamiest hotels from the hoteliers and
staff who know these stories by heart.

Length: 500-800 words

Location: North America + Caribbean

Structure: Brief introduction covering what’s attractive about the destination with a short
preview of the amenities readers can expect in the following hotels.

Example: The Peabody: Memphis’s Dream Hotel

                                                                                              13
