EBC RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Better involvement of SME associations & social partners in apprenticeship schemes and definition of the sector’s skills 2. Massive national campaigns to improve the European Alliance for image of manual trades and construction Apprenticeship Joined in Riga 2015 3. Targeting women in apprenticeship schemes 4. Integrating entrepreneurship education in 5 main objectives VET curricula 5. Supporting SMEs to engage in apprenticeship 6. Better use of EU funds to promote new skills

EBC RECOMMENDATION 3 Targeting women in apprenticeship schemes for construction v Several opportunities for whom is willing to take them, without discrimination v SMEs as drivers of gender diversity in apprenticeships is a must v Schools and training centres should target to attract both male and female young people to the sector EBC 2015 Photo exhibition
EBC RECOMMENDATION 4 Better use of the European funds to promote new skills/methods v More public policies for the development of job specific skills v More funding to SME representatives and SME initiatives on green skills, digital tools, health & safety
EBC RECOMMENDATION 5 Supporting small and medium-sized companies to engage in apprenticeship v Minimise regulatory burdens for companies to engage in apprenticeship schemes v Raise awareness among companies of the benefits of apprentices, specially companies with no experience with apprentices EU-funded projects on apprenticeship/training in SMEs: NETconVET project (Erasmus+) CONDAP project proposal (Erasmus+)
