Which types of projects does NESOI support? Sustainable energy-related projects ✓ Production of energy from renewable sources; ✓ Energy efficiency interventions on public assets (buildings, public lighting systems, etc.); ✓ Energy efficiency interventions on private assets (buildings, industries, etc.); ✓ Realization/Improvement of energy storage systems; ✓ Improvement of the existing electricity grid; ✓ Realization/improvement of District Heating and Cooling networks; ✓ Energy-related food, waste and water management actions; ✓ Implementation of sustainable mobility solutions; ✓ Improvement of energy monitoring and management at island or island cluster level; ✓ Energy auditing and analysis, energy planning at island or island cluster level ✓ And many others 5 5
Where should project be implemented? On an inhabited island belonging to one of the Member States of the European Union and UK, including their outermost regions, but excluding Overseas Countries and Territories On an island with maximum area of 30,000 km2 6 6
Who can apply to receive NESOI support? One or more legal entities (i.e. consortium) Legal entities established in the Member States (MS) of the European Union (EU) and UK, including their outermost regions, but excluding OCT Note: private companies in any legal form, provided that they have a support letter from relevant public authority . 8 8
Which type of financial support is provided? Successful Applicants EUR 60,000 lump sum in the form of a grant External Services (External Expertise) 9 9
NESOI Technical Assistance Menus For each level of project maturity NESOI provides the applicants with a number of predetermined Technical Assistance Menus (also Menu) to choose from MATURITY LEVEL ENTRY LEVEL 1.
