Hymn #187 Before the Throne of God Above Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea A great High Priest whose name is love Who ever lives and pleads for me My name is graven on His hands My name is written on His heart I know that while in heaven He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart No tongue can bid me thence depart When Satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end of all my sin Because the sinless Savior died My sinful soul is counted free For God the Just is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me To look on Him and pardon me Behold Him there, the risen Lamb My perfect, spotless Righteousness The great unchangeable I AM The King of glory and of grace One with Himself, I cannot die My soul is purchased by His blood My life is hid with Christ on high With Christ my Savior and my God With Christ my Savior and my God Words by Vikki Cook and Charitie Lees Bancroft. Hymn #301 There Is a Fountain There is a fountain filled with blood, Drawn from Immanuel’s veins, And sinners plunged beneath that flood Lose all their guilty stains: And sinners plunged beneath that flood Lose all their guilty stains. The dying thief rejoiced to see That fountain in his day; And there may I, though vile as he, Wash all my sins away: And there may I, though vile as he, Wash all my sins away. E’er since by faith I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die: Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die. When this poor, lisping, stamm’ring tongue Lies silent in the grave, Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Your pow’r to save: Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Your pow’r to save Words by William Cowper (1771). Hymn #368 Speak, O Lord Speak O Lord as we come to You To receive the food of Your holy word Take Your truth plant it deep in us Shape and fashion us in Your likeness That the light of Christ might be seen today In our acts of love and our deeds of faith Speak O Lord and fulfill in us All Your purposes for Your glory Teach us Lord full obedience Holy reverence true humility Test our thoughts and our attitudes In the radiance of Your purity Cause our faith to rise, cause our eyes to see Your majestic love and authority Words of power that can never fail Let their truth prevail over unbelief Speak O Lord and renew our minds Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us Truths unchanged from the dawn of time That will echo down through eternity And by grace we'll stand on Your promises And by faith we'll walk as You walk with us Speak O Lord till Your church is built And the earth is filled with Your glory Words and Music by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend. © 2006 Thankyou Music (PRS) (adm. worldwide at CapitolCMGPublishing.com excluding Europe which is adm. by Integritymusic.com) All rights reserved. Hymn #343 The Communion Hymn Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away, Slain for us: and we remember: The promise made that all who come in faith Find forgiveness at the cross. So we share in this Bread of life, And we drink of His sacrifice, As a sign of our bonds of peace Around the table of the King. The body of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Torn for you: eat and remember The wounds that heal, the death that brings us life, Paid the price to make us one. So we share in this Bread of Life, And we drink of His sacrifice As a sign of our bonds of love Around the table of the King. The blood that cleanses every stain of sin, Shed for you: drink and remember He drained death’s cup that all may enter in To receive the life of God. So we share in this Bread of Life, And we drink of His sacrifice, As a sign of our bonds of grace Around the table of the King. And so with thankfulness and faith We rise to respond: and to remember Our call to follow in the steps of Christ As His body here on earth. As we share in His suffering, We proclaim: Christ will come again! And we’ll join in the feast of heaven Around the table of the King.
