Welcome

Song of Praise and Worship Like a Lion

Let love explode and Now I'm lost in your freedom
bring the dead to life Oh, this world I'll overcome
A love so bold
To see a revolution somehow My God's not dead
                                               He's surely alive
Now I'm lost in your freedom And He's living on the inside
Oh, this world I'll overcome Roaring like a lion
                                               My God's not dead
My God's not dead He's surely alive
He's surely alive And He's living on the inside
And He's living on the inside Roaring like a lion
Roaring like a lion
My God's not dead Let Heaven roar and fire fall
He's surely alive Come, shake the ground
And He's living on the inside With the sound of revival
Roaring like a lion
Let Heaven roar and fire fall
Let hope arise and make the darkness hide Come, shake the ground
My faith is dead With the sound of revival
I need a resurrection somehow

Song of Praise and Worship In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found Scorned by the ones He came to save
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground 'Til on that cross as Jesus died
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
What heights of love, what depths of peace Here in the death of Christ I live
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All There in the ground His body lay
Here in the love of Christ I stand Light of the World by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Up from the grave He rose again
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me Jesus commands my destiny
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
No guilt in life, no fear in death 'Til He returns or calls me home
This is the power of Christ in me Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
From life's first cry to final breath

Pastoral Prayer

Offering Resurrecting

The head that once was crowned with thorns
Is crowned with glory now By Your spirit I will rise
The Savior knelt to wash our feet From the ashes of defeat
Now at His feet we bow The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
In Your name I come alive
The One who wore our sin and shame To declare Your victory
Now robed in majesty The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
The radiance of perfect love
Now shines for all to see By Your spirit I will rise
                                             From the ashes of defeat
Your name, Your name The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
Is victory In Your name I come alive
All praise, will rise To declare Your victory
To Christ, our king The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
Your name, Your name
Is victory The tomb where soldiers watched in vain
All praise, will rise Was borrowed for three days
To Christ, our king His body there would not remain
Our God has robbed the grave
The fear that held us now gives way Our God has robbed the grave
To Him who is our peace
His final breath upon the cross Your name, Your name
Is now alive in me Is victory
                                             All praise, will rise
Your name, Your name To Christ our king
Is victory Your name, Your name
All praise, will rise Is victory
To Christ, our king All praise, will rise
Your name, Your name To Christ our king
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ, our king

Scripture Lesson Mark 16:1-8
1When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome
bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week,
when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 They had been saying to one another, “Who will
roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” 4 When they looked up, they saw that
the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. 5 As they entered the tomb, they
saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But
he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He
has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples
and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.” 8 So
they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said
nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

 Thanks be to God!

Message Pastor Laura Katherine Stern

Song of Response King of Kings

In the darkness we were waiting Praise the Father, praise the Son
Without hope, without light Praise the Spirit, three in one
'Til from Heaven You came running God of glory, Majesty
There was mercy in Your eyes Praise forever to the King of Kings
To fulfill the law and prophets
To a virgin came the word And the morning that You rose
From a throne of endless glory All of Heaven held its breath
To a cradle in the dirt 'Til that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
Praise the Father, praise the Son And the dead rose from their tombs
Praise the Spirit, three in one And the angels stood in awe
God of glory, Majesty For the souls of all who'd come
Praise forever to the King of Kings To the Father are restored

To reveal the kingdom coming And the church of Christ was born
And to reconcile the lost Then the Spirit lit the flame
To redeem the whole creation Now this gospel truth of old
You did not despise the cross Shall not kneel, shall not faint
For even in your suffering By His blood and in His name
You saw to the other side In His freedom I am free
Knowing this was our salvation For the love of Jesus Christ
Jesus for our sake you died Who has resurrected me
Praise the Father, praise the Son God of glory, Majesty
Praise the Spirit, three in one Praise forever to the King of Kings

Opening Prayer
Holy One, you come to us with power beyond all knowing. You lift all things out of the
dust, you breathe love into every cell, you call us into communion with you, and you claim
victory over death. Blessed be your holy name now and forever. Amen.

Prayer for Illumination
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as Your scriptures
are read and Your word proclaimed, we may hear with joy what You say to us today.
 Amen.
First Lesson Psalm 118:14-24
 The Lord is my strength and my might;
 He has become my salvation.
There are glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous:
 “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly;
 The right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.”
I shall not die, but I shall live,
And recount the deeds of the Lord.
The Lord has punished me severely,
But he did not give me over to death.
Open to me the gates of righteousness,
That I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.
 This is the gate of the Lord;
The righteous shall enter through it.
I thank you that you have answered me
 And have become my salvation.
The stone that the builders rejected
 Has become the chief cornerstone.
 This is the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
 This is the day that the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
The Word of God for the people of God.
 Thanks be to God!

Anthem Christ Has Broken Down the Wall Miller

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his
only son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered
 under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from
thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy
catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be. World without end. Amen. Amen.

Prayers of the People

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
 Amen.

Giving of Tithes and Offerings

Offertory Alleluia Mozart

Offertory Response
 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
