2021 Home Industries Steward: Susan Hopley phone 0274476868 with any queries EXHIBITS • $1 ENTRY FEE for all entries, unless otherwise stated. • Deliver entries to the Home Industries room Wednesday 13 Jan 2020 between 12 & 3:00pm • Come prepared with name attached to entry, completed entry form & fee. • DECORATED CAKE to be delivered ready for staging at 09:00am Saturday 16 Jan 2020 with completed entry form & fee & name label. • All Exhibits must be the Bona fide/original work of the exhibitor and must be home grown/homemade. • Late entries not accepted as we will be straight into staging and judging. • Open – anyone of any age can enter. LABELS • Open – Name attached underneath the entry with white sticky label or black permanent marker. • Juniors – Name attached underneath & Year group attached to front with white sticky label or black permanent market. JUDGING/PRIZES • Judges are all professionals in their own right. • Judges may not award prizes if exhibits have not met the required standard. • JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL AND NO CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERED INTO. • If only 1 exhibit in class, entry money will be returned. • If only 2 exhibits in class, 1st prize only will be awarded. • If only 3 exhibits in class, 1st and 2nd prizes only will be awarded. • Collection of exhibits & prize money between 3 & 4pm Saturday 16 January from Home Industries room. • Prize money 1st = $3.00 2nd = 2.00 3rd = $1.00 Baking (Open) • Carrot Cake iced • Apple Muffins – 4 • Loaf – your choice • Apple Turnover – 3 • Shortbread – 4 pieces • Sugar Free Cookies – 4 • Gluten Free Biscuits – 4 • Slice – your choice – 4 pieces Prize/Sponsor: $50 voucher from Eastend Cafe for most points in Open Baking. Trophy: DH Newbigin Cup for most points in open baking. Judging based on - uniformity, taste, presentation, flavour, texture. All baking to be presented in a clear plastic bag on a firm base, or a clear container - no cling film please. • Decorative Iced Cake – 2 tiers or more – create a masterpiece – judged on appearance only. Flowers (Open) • Rose Bouquet • Dahlias – 3 stems • Vase of Flowers – any variety – can add greenery – this is a floral arrangement Prize/Sponsor: $25 cash from Purple Petals for most points overall in Flowers. Judging based on – uniformity, appearance, balance, colour, foliage Photography (Open) • Fashion • Native Flora • Foodography • Backlit Portrait • Love story/Aroha • Thrill & Adventure • Wairoa Lighthouse • Fence in Landscape • Clouds & Inclement weather Prize/Sponsor: $50 cash from Purple Petals for most points in Photography. Please record on reverse - class name - exhibitor name - use a sticky white label or a pen. Unmounted. No borders. 6 x 4 standard print size. Must be printed on Photographic paper. This section is not open to paid or professional photographers – Strictly Amateurs. Judging – because photos can be so easily enhanced, Judges will put particular emphasis on positioning, focus, choice & creativity of shot. Judging will be based on creativity & originality, difficulty of technique & design, presentation, border work, neatness & precision, choice & use of colour & finish.
