2021 Outstanding Graduating Senior Aiden Ciaffaglione WGS Valedictorian 3 Aiden Ciaffaglione (They/Them/ Theirs) What Degree(s) did you receive? B.A. in Sociology and Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies; Minors in Psychology and Political Science with Honors What is your plan after graduation? I plan on attending Syracuse University in the pursuit of a Masters of Higher Education. I will be a graduate assistant in their student health promotion department. In the future, I hope to support students of marginalized communities through their college careers. Crowley 4 Crowley (He/Him) What Degrees did you receive? Bachelors in WGS and minor in sociology What are your future plans? Going to Grad school to become a DR. or going to law school. Haven't decided. What organizations/clubs were you a part of? BSU (black Student union in 2018) Wilde Stein (2018) What else would you like us to know? Allison Marcellino 5 Allison Marcellino (She/Her) What Degrees did you receive: B.A. in Psychology and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies What are your future plans? I plan to pursue a career in public policy and social justice. What Organizations/Clubs were you involved in? Ultimate Frisbee and Campus Activities Board Allison Marcellino What else would you like us to know about you? I feel so grateful for the WGS program at University of Maine and I am lucky to have met so many incredible and inspiring humans through this program.
Daijah Wesson 6 Daijah Wesson (She/Her) What Degrees did you receive? Bachelors in International Affairs with a concentration in Global Woman's Gender and Sexuality Studies Major and an Anthropology Minor. What are your future plans? I am currently applying to internships with ACLU and studying for my LSAT inorder to apply to law school. What Organizations/Clubs were you involved in? I was involved in Black Student Union and Chi Alpha. What awards did you receive? Dean's List Daijah Wesson What else would you like us to know about you? My end goal is to have a community home for LGBTQ+ adolescence who need support and guidance. Whether that is because they were kicked out of their homes, or because they felt as though they didn't have anyone around who understood them. This community home will be a place for them to not only have a roof order their heads, but hopefully a place where they can find community that one day becomes family. Fingers crossed!
