Weekly Roundup 09/07/2021 Our Christian Value this term is…..Forgivness. Fitness, fun and fantastic giggles! This week in Caterpillars we have 1/2 R have had the best week EVER! We started our been super active getting stuck into week off with a skipping challenge, we then did a sports week. Throughout the week circuit challenge which involved planks, star jumps, we have taken part in various activities squats and very fast sprinting! On Tuesday we practiced our skipping on the field then around the track as 1 big group! We had a fun mini Olympics with Mr. Plumber Year 3/4 on Wednesday morning and then in the afternoon 3/4S have been really getting the pulse rates rising with all done some Yoga! In Yoga we done different breathing their hard work in our sports week. We started with some techniques and created different poses around the circuit training connected with Ping Pong, the children story of a bubble bee. We have also had a great workout with learning how to do brilliant burpees, perfect planks and serious squats, building our endurance for our race for life on Friday. We designed our number cards with messages to people we are thinking off, before travelling around the track and earning our medals. We also had a visit from a real dance teacher, so all in all a very good day!
Year 3/4 Continued… 3/4P have had a brilliant Sports Week! Miss Pepper has been super impressed with their sportsmanship and enthusiasm for joining in and trying new sports! 3/4P were very lucky to have a dance coach, Rosie, lead a dance workshop with the children. For many of them, this was quite new and different to what they thought a dance lesson would be! It was lovely to see the whole class joining in and creating a sequence of movements to a piece of 5K music. 3/4P very much enjoyed our mini Table Tennis This week has flown by with all the amazing sports and Tournament! Year 6 Continued… 6G have really enjoyed sports week and we have all taken part in lots of fun activities, both inside and out. We began by taking part in a fitness challenge – we had to do a plank hold, squat hold and burpees. It was a lot harder than it looked! We also enjoyed playing table tennis in the hall, pairing up for some doubles matches. Well done to Ellis and Ella who were the team to beat! To round the week off, on Note from the Sports Coach Friday we all took part in the Race for Life for Cancer Due to the Covid restrictions we haven't been able to have Research – congratulations to Demi who completed all a whole school sports day. In P.E we have had our own seven laps and won the race! mini-Olympics to give the students that healthy competition.
