TRULY ALPINE because of its landscapes : with its mountain pasture chalets,
snow covered passes and mountain lakes, the Samoëns Trail Tour allows its
participants to revel in the rich diversity of its alpine setting.
TRULY ALPINE because of its elevation : with an average elevation of 70 to 80m
PRESENTING per kilometre run on the main routes, the Samoëns Trail Tour is actually one of
the steepest on the circuit so you’ll need to be in peak physical condition.
TRULY ALPINE because of its technicality : on top of the mighty elevation, the
Samoëns Trail Tour is also demanding and participants will need to prove their
technical abilities to complete the course. Snow covered passages, steep
slopes, exposed tracks, scree, rocks… forget rolling hills because there are very
few on our courses !
TRULY ALPINE in spirit : humility, support and encouragement between the
competitors, personal achievement, respect for the surrounding environment…
all of this great mountain spirit comes together in this tour and embodies the
Ultra-Trail® essence of the race.

a TRULY ALPINE organisation and is now well established in the world of amateur trail.
The creation of a 120km course will allow its integration into the Ultra Trail
TRAIL. World Tour Series in 2021 followed worldwide by major sporting media.

Samoëns
The village of Samoëns is surrounded by 7 mountains and visitors particularly love
the authentic charm of this place.
Samoëns is spread over altitudes of between 700 and 2,500 metres, at the heart of
Haut-Giffre Valley, north-east of Haute Savoie,at the foot of the Criou mountain and just
a stone’s throw from the glacial Cirque du Fer à Cheval.
The mountainous landscapes here are particularly relaxing. Today, it has become all all-
year-round destination and it is part of the Grand Massif ski area. Samoëns has all the
facilities and amenities that holidaymakers expect to find, as well as having preserved
its traditional architecture and cultural heritage. The village-resort offers a wide range of
activities on land, water or in the air, all in an absolutely superb
setting.
In the summer, beginner or advanced hikers can wander the footpaths through the
biggest natural reserve in Haute-Savoie: Sixt-Passy Nature Reserve.
