ADELAIDE RALLY In 2019 the competitive side of the rally continues to run over 4 days with Challenge and Competition Classes hitting their first stage of the event on the Wednesday afternoon. Longer stages up to 20km will be employed and up to 32 stages will be run throughout the four days. Tour categories get started on Thursday morning, with the Prima Tour heading off first . Main Tour and Spirit Tour cars will continue on to tackle more closed road stages and longer stages compared to 2018. Combined, all category entries are expected to eclipse the 304 entries received in 2018 making the Shannons Adelaide Rally possibly the largest Tarmac Rally field in Australasia for 2019. The event focuses on spirited driving challenges and touring as well as hard-core rallying. Iconic closed road stages throughout the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and McLaren Vale Regions feature prominently. The result is four days jam-packed with activities and a festival feel not found at any other rally event in the country . CATEGORIES INCLUDE: PRIMA TOUR - MAIN TOUR - SPIRIT - CHALLENGE - COMPETITION
VICTORIA PARK SPRINT ADELAIDE COMES ALIVE The 2019 event will feature more Fomula One cars not seen at the event before and some new machinery including 800hp off road trophy trucks and Rallycross cars racing pitted against tarmac tearing World Time attack cars and more. You’ll see a bigger blend of historic motoring cars and more international and Australian motoring greats taking part. Theres a whole heap more ...yet to be announced. Maintaining the 3 day event format for the second year, practice will take place on the afternoon of December 6th, with competition on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December. Approximately 220 cars will hit the shortened Adelaide Grand Prix circuit in groups of 14 as racers of all types and eras of vehicles blast past the tens of thousands of spectators trackside.
IT’S ALL ABOUT STARS AND GREAT CARS In 2018 we actioned some unique single and dual vehicle demonstrations on track with ultra rare and collectible or ultra- powerful cars....and even a plane ! The incredibly positive reaction to these features has led us to create even more of these features for 2019 There’s so much in store ...all of which will be revealed in the leadup to the event!
South Australia has a rich Motorsport history. We are privileged to have hosted numerous Australian Grand Prix races, with the first being held at Victor Harbor in 1936 and the last being on the Adelaide Parklands circuit in 1995. The Adelaide Motorsport Festival celebrates these years whilst also drawing in star cars that claimed their fame on circuits all over the globe. South Australia has the highest percentage of classic and exotic car ownership per-capita of anywhere in the world and held the record for the highest Formula One event attendance at over 500,000 people for many decades. Although the event is successful in its own backyard, the AMF also enjoys over 11% attendance from interstate and abroad. A MUSEUM IN MOTION

On-Track action at the Victoria Park Sprint includes some demonstrative runs as well as a “sprint” event of a competitive nature. ON-TRACK The sprint involves up to 14 cars on the track at any one time, which are timed and results recorded. Cars are driven in a spirited nature, similar to that of days gone by. Categories that you can expect to see on-track include: • 5 Litre Touring Cars and Ex V8 Supercars • Heritage Touring Cars VICTORIA PARK SPRINT • Post Vintage Thoroughbred cars 1931- 1949 • Historic Racing and Sports cars 1941 - 1972 • Production & Touring cars 1972 - 1989 • Vehicles of Interest (organisers’ discretion) • Open Wheeled Sports & Formula One Cars • Pre 1995 Motorbikes (demonstration only)
COMMUNITY EVENTS Gouger Street Party - Friday This event includes all the Adelaide Rally cars as well as selected cars from other elements of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival. The cars are displayed within Gouger Street in the Adelaide CBD. There will once again be a mammoth buzz through the city as a number of the F1 cars will be police escorted straight down Wakefield Street from Victoria Park, to Gouger Street. Last year’s attendance peaked at 12,720 people. Birdwood Lunch Stop The Birdwood stop brings the grounds of the National Motor Museum alive as over 250 cars converge on the township . Here spectators can get up close to all the cars and drivers before they tackle the final 14km stage of the event and return to Victoria Park.
