Progress in 2020 January: The final sections of concrete were poured for the tunnel’s roof slab at the eastern entrance at South Yarra. All four TBMs were in action concurrently for the first time – Joan and Meg from Arden to Parkville, and Millie and Alice from Anzac to South Yarra. July: Roadheader breakthrough under Swanston Street between Franklin Street and A’Beckett Street. August: TBM Joan broke through into the Parkville Station box, having tunnelled almost 1.4km since she started her journey from Arden Station in May. September: The project reached the milestone of more than half of tunnelling complete on the project’s 9km twin tunnels. TBM Meg completed the journey from Arden to Parkville and TBM Millie broke through at South Yarra. Victoria’s Big Build October: TBM Alice broke through at South Yarra.
