MSCA in more detail ER/Postdoc-level: Experienced researchers (ER) who are in the possession of a PhD or have at least 4 years of full time research experience after their master (which allows them to embark on doctoral studies). At this career stage, you can apply for an MSCA Individual fellowship «IF» for mobility to any EU Member State (MS) or country which is associated (AS) to H2020. MSCA in more detail Funding principles: A MSC IF can last 12 to 24 months. It is possible to include secondment periods within EU MS/AS to enhance the impact of the fellowship. Proposals from any research field can be submitted. The MSCA follow the bottom up principle. You have to comply with the mobility rule ! 12 13 Sep. 2017
MSCA in more detail There are 5 sub-schemes for the fellowships: IF sub-scheme Target group Standard European For researchers of any nationality who want to acquire international research EF-ST experience in a EU-MS/AS. For researchers* who wish to return and reintegrate in Europe. They must move Reintegration panel directly from a country outside of Europe back to the EU-MS/AS where the host is EF-RI located. Society&Enterprise panel For researchers of any nationality who want to conduct their projects at a non- EF-SE academic host in a EU-MS/AS. Career restart panel For researchers of any nationality who want to resume their career after a break in EF-CAR research. Global Fellowship For researchers* who want to carry out their projects outside of EU-MS/AS. A return GF phase to Europe is mandatory. *They must be nationals or long term residents of a EU-member state or associated country «MS/AS» meaning research of 5 consecutive years in EU-MS/AS at any time in the past. 13 13 Sep. 2017

MSCA in more detail This is what you get with a MSC IF: Your salary (including all compulsory deductions) Living allowance 4650 €/month (including compulsory +21% for Switzerland national deductions) Mobility allowance 600 €/month To come up for costs related to your relocation Familiy allowance 500 €/month In case you are married or have kids Contribution to project costs Research, training and 800 €/month The whole EU contribution is transferred to the host networking costs institution which has to employ you for the duration of the fellowship. ERC in more detail Evaluation criteria Excellence of you as principle investigator for StG, CoG & AdG Excellence of project (groundbreaking, high risk/high gain) The host institution for your project has to be located in a EU MS or AS. Switzerland belongs to the AS. StG → up to € 1.5 Mio for a duration of up to 5 years, to CoG → up to € 2 Mio cover your own salary (if applic- AdG→ up to € 2.5 Mio able), team members and research costs. 20 13 Sep. 2017
