Speeder Shoot Out The North American Railcar Operators Association will be coming to the Coos Bay Rail Line for the Teddy Bear Toy Express October 8, in Lakeside at between 3 and 3:30 PM and on Sunday October 9, at noon at Sturdivant Park in Coquille. They will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for “Toys For Tots.” We will be photographing them as they make their way back to Coos Bay from Coquille. Board members present were Carol Todd, Elise Ciraolo, Don Todd, Linda Petersen, Tom Branderhorst and Cathy Stevenson. Approval of Minutes The August meeting minutes were approved unanimously following a motion by Elise with a second by Don. 5
Treasurer’s Report The current balance in the account is $1843.93 • 4Cs dues ($35) need to be paid now, Linda will write a check today and Don/Carol will follow-up. • PSA Dues – The Board decided not to renew the PSA Membership this year. Old Business Scavenger Hunt – • There is a two-dollar entry fee • Entries are due at or before the October 4th meeting. Send your images to cathyandtods@msn.com or bring on a thumb drive to the meeting. • Certificates will be awarded to winners Pony Village Show and Sale • We will plan to have the show sometime in mid-November. We still don’t have a space or date confirmed by the Mall. • Cathy will bring disposable masks for Pony Village Show. Yard Sale The Board agreed that the sale will be from -8-4 on Friday September 24th only. Note: (Since the Board Meeting the Yard Sale has been postponed, due to the current status of Covid 19 cases in Coos County.) Good of the Order Outreach We should pursue a display at the coos Art Museum. • Tom has a contact there and has been following up on this idea. • Activity at the museum continues at a reduced level. • They are interested in a photography class. • The Board is open to this proposal. Ask the Coos Bay Library about displaying there. They have a large space on the back wall, where we have exhibited before. We need new business cards. Carol will order some. How to Join the OCPA Joining OCPA is very easy! Just come to one of our meetings and check us out. If you like what you see we'll take your membership dues and that is it! If you want to join, but can't make a meeting, just write a check and mail it to us: Oregon Coast Photographers' Association, Inc. PO Box 1012 Coos Bay, OR 97420 Membership Dues are $24.00 for individuals or $36.00 for families (up to 2 adults and any/all children 17 years and under at the same address, everyone will have all membership privileges except only 2 votes per family). Dues are prorated for new members for the remaining months from when they join until the next July first annual meeting. All information on club activities including, but not limited to, our by-laws, policies, and competition rules, can be found on our website at www.oregoncoastphotoclub.org.
