Panelists were Tahir Faruqui (Shell), Stephane Maillard (GTT), Michihiko Nakano (MOL) and Jerome Leprince-Ringuet, Total Marine Fuels. A lively informative debate ensued. Leading the industry using our collective knowledge and experience to help and provide insightful guidance for safe and responsible use of gas as a commercial marine fuel. 1
technical updates / issue 2018 - 03 Recent or Upcoming Work Group Meetings Work Group 10 This group, looking at Shipyard Work Practices for Drydocking and Safe working arrangements met for the second time at a meeting held in Singapore. The meeting was kindly hosted by Keppel at their shipyard. The group were given a short tour of the shipyard and its training facilities. Thank you to Keppel for hosting the meeting and team dinner. Work Group 6, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 Work Group 6, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 met this week in Aberdeen. The meeting was kindly hosted by Houlder. These groups continue to make progress looking at the various components and systems that are involved in bunkering operations. Work Group 9 The WG is looking at Methane Number considerations for IGF ships is due to meet next week in Munich. The meeting is kindly hosted by Nauticor. Members should note that Work Group meetings are for registered members of that particular Work Group only. If you wish to observe a Work Group meeting please contact the Secretariat. A summary of the progress from the above meetings will be available on the Member Portal shortly. IMO - 2018 World Maritime Day & Evening Reception Having recently obtained Consultative Status with The International Maritime Organisation, SGMF were invited to celebrate World Maritime Day at IMO Headquarters in London, marking the year’s theme “IMO 70: Our Heritage – Better Shipping for a Better Future”. The Secretariat along with some UK members enjoyed an afternoon gaining a deeper understanding about the work of the IMO, it’s history and the role of NGO’s. Guests were then invited to the Delegates’ Lounge for the 2018 World Maritime Day Reception, with the opportunity to meet the Secretary-General, Kitack Lim. sea change. 2

The IBERIA GAS & LNG conference and exhibition takes place in Madrid next June 10-11. We invite members to join the agenda to speak and to participate with the role for gas as a transport fuel forming a key element of the agenda.
