Tough Mudder Chicago Event Packet OVERVIEW Step 1: Read this whole packet. Step 2: Get acquainted with these directions to our parking location, not what your GPS is telling you. Directions are located below, follow them. Step 3: Get excited. CAN’T MAKE IT? your registration fee will allow you access the event as a spectator on the day of your event. Or, you can transfer to another event to take advantage of your paid registration. PLEASE NOTE: Wherever possible, participants have been assigned to the start time that they requested when registering for the event. However, due to demand, some participants may find that they have been assigned to a different start time than requested. Please do not contact us requesting a time change.

Mudder Legion If you have completed a Tough Mudder in the past, you will be earning your spot in Mudder Legion in Chicago. Be sure to visit the Mudder Legion Check-In area right after registration to pick up your wristband: giving you access to exclusive Mud- der Legion benefits on course. If you have earned an orange headband by participating at a past Tough Mudder event, wear it on the course this weekend. We promise to make it worth your while. EVENT SCHEDULE The Five Steps of the Mudder: 1: the approach Make your way to Mudder Village from the parking lot, ensuring you don’t forget your ID, cash, waiver or kid in the car. When possible, print your waiver prior to event day, sign and initial where indicated and bring it with you. There will be a limited number of waivers on site, and you will not be able to check in without one. 2: WELCOME MUDDERS Follow the “Registration” signs to the “Participant Check-In” tent. Have your ID and waiver in hand and use any lane to have a staff member will check you in. When you check in, you will be given your: • Participant bib • Black participant wristband: goes ON YOUR WRIST (No wristband = no mud) • Gray bag tag: goes ON YOUR BAG (if you’re using bag drop–see below for details) • Orange Dos XX wristband: If you are 21 or over, put this on your wrist to receive a nice cold DOS XX in the finish chute Mudder Legion: If you have completed a Tough Mudder in the past, you will be earning your spot in Mudder Legion in Chicago. Be sure to visit the Mudder Legion Check-In area right after registration to pick up your wristband: giving you access to exclusive Mudder Legion benefits on course. 3: GET READY FACE MARKING: After you pass through check-in, you will see black permanent markers dangling ahead. It’s up to you to “face-mark” the Mudder behind you. This means writing their participant bib # on their forehead and on their arm or leg. Staff will be alongside to assist. Write legibly and feel free to get creative. BAG DROP: Once you have your face marked, head on over to our bag drop tent if you’d like to check your belongings. Bag drop is $10 cash. Have your cash ready when you approach bag drop, and be sure that your GRAY tag is on your bag. Feel free to share bags with friends.
Don’t have a bag to check?: We’re offering free storage for wallets, keys and phones. We will have storage on-site for your valuables (storage is only large enough for phones, wallets, and keys - all other items will need to be kept at Bag Drop for $10). It will be located near Bag Drop - ask about it there if you can’t find it. Spots are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. 4: DON’T THROW UP 20 minutes before your start wave, make your way to the “To Start” inflatable arch, where you’ll (Seriously, It’s gross) get pumped up with the Mudders you’ll be sharing your wave with. After each start wave is re- leased from the start chute, participants in the next wave will be allowed to make their way over the walls and into the start chute. Do not arrive at the “To Start” arch more than 25 minutes before your start wave. 5: PARTY HARD Mudder Village is a key component of the Tough Mudder experience. It’s like New Years Eve, reunion, and your 21st birthday all wrapped into one, but without the unfortunate decisions you likely made at all three. PRO TIP: Mudders don’t drink and drive. Identify your designated driver before you arrive at the event. Follow all directions given by on-site parking attendants. • All spectator parking will be at the same lot as participant parking. • Cars not parked in designated spaces will be towed. There will be law enforcement and a tow truck on site. All incurred damages and costs will be at the driver’s expense. • No camping, RVs or trailers are allowed in any parking lots. • No cars or vehicles will be allowed to park overnight. Violators will be towed. • Don’t leave your photo ID in your car. BASE AREA The base area, known as ‘Mudder Village’ hosts a range of services and activities for you to access throughout the day. COURSE Course Safety Warning The course is designed to be very difficult, and the terrain is at times muddy, slippery COURSE DETAILS and potentially dangerous. Woods 10–12 miles Course Sweep 5+ first aid/water stations At 6:30 PM on Saturday and 4:30 PM on Sunday, all participants who have not reached the halfway mark will be escorted off the course by the first aid team. VOLUNTEERS Sure, your friends and family could support you as spectators watching from the sidelines, OR they could really get in on the action by becoming volunteers at your event. We’re offering chartered buses Saturday from downtown Chicago (intersection of Clinton st. and Madison st.) to the event and back for $45.Tickets only on sale until May 1, so buy them now. Pre-event Packet Pick-Up Head straight to the start line by picking up your packet and bib Friday before the event. We’re offering pre-event packet pick-up at the Garmin store in downtown Chicago. We’ll have a mini course set up for kids in our base area. $10 per child, $20 for 2 or more kids. Unlimited access for the day and kids get their facepainted too. Post Party Head to the official Tough Mudder post party at KC’s Cabin where you and your fellow Mudders can soak up some awesome food and drink specials all evening!
