I have been in the show scene since around 1979
when I obtained my first Scottish Terrier from the
renowned NZ Scottish Terrier Kennel, MacGlam.
Prior to that I did have a Gordon Setter for a short
time. I have had Scotties since and have had
reasonable success in the show ring.
I bred my first litter in the 1990s and gave up
breeding about 10 years ago. I obtained my first
Lhasa Apso from Tracey Turner, Mufassa Kennel,
in 2014 and then imported a bitch from the
Sooquan Kennels in Australia in 2018.
Limited showing has brought some success with Sydney and am looking a
tbringing in another Lhasa to complement her and the possibility of puppies in
the future.
I am licensed to judge Terriers and Non-sporting and this year I am now
qualified to judge the Toy Group.

The Samoyed Day 6 Open Show 2021
Butch Profile Ian and Lorraine produced their first dog roll in Ruawai, New Zealand. A butcher by trade, Ian had recognised the growing problem of hydatids through feeding uncooked meat to dogs. He created the dog roll as a safer and healthier alternative. Ian travelled to Auckland on Friday's where he sold his product to farmers, butchers and small markets. By 1964 they were producing 300 dog rolls per week. One Friday, when returning from Auckland, Ian was horrified to find his factory engulfed in flames. All of the equipment and stock was destroyed, the factory burnt to the ground. They had no insurance. Soon after, Ian and Lorraine moved to Auckland with their three children where they re-built their lives. Butch Today Today Butch produces over 100,000 dog and cat rolls per week, is the market leader in New Zealand and has one of the most efficient and innovative pet roll manufacturing plants in the world. Butch, the oldest, most established pet roll company in the country is still solely owned by Ian and Lorraine. I have been involved with breeding and exhibiting
Rottweilers since 1985 under the prefix Hardrada,
having produced 38 champions, in seven
countries. In recent times I have had success in
Australia having produced 4 grand champions and
was the first overseas breeder to produce the first
supreme rottweiler champion. I was also very
pleased to have the first Rottweiler in 2013 to be
awarded canine hero of the year with the New
Zealand Kennel club.
Originally from the UK, I started judging in 1991 at
open show level, moving to New Zealand 2002, in
2005 I was passed to award cc’s in Rottweilers and Swedish Vallhunds, later
on being passed for the utility group, and have been fortunate to judge in
Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Australia, and New Zealand. I have served
on many dog-related committees in UK, and for 12 years was on the
Tauranga Kennel Association Committee.
I feel very privileged to be able to live in New Zealand and honoured to be
asked by the committee to judge The Samoyed Club Championship Show.
