MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Papakura Netball Centre has a long standing history of providing netball opportunities to the extended Papakura community. We are proud of our facilities, competitions and the fact that so many of our community choose to participate in the game we all love. We hope you make the most of the netball development opportunities, facilities, resources and competitions on offer, and that you enjoy being part of the Papakura Netball Centre. Raewyn Mills 2019 SATURDAY WINTER CLUB COMPETITION FEE STRUCTURE (prices include GST) GRADE FEE Senior $149.00 per player Collegiate $117.00 per player Intermediate $99.00 per player Y5 & Y6 futureFERNS $80.00 per player Y1 - Y4 futureFERNS $75.00 per person (10 week programme) Papakura Netball Centre will book ALL required indoor court hire relating to PNC competitions and activities, and this is charged directly by Pulman Arena to PNC at $41.25 per court per hour. Those teams who have been selected to play indoors during the winter club competition, will be on-charged Pulman Arena Court hire costs accordingly. Please refer to Pulman Indoor Arena (PIA) fee structure for on-charge costs relating to grades playing indoors. Unregistered Player Fee $10.00 per player (Senior & Collegiate grades) Unregistered Player Fee $5.00 per player (Intermediate & lower grades) New Club Affiliation Fee $100.00 per club COURT HIRE OUTDOOR COURTS (weekly in season 1st April - 23rd August) Weeknights $200.00 per court per hour (between 5.30pm - 6.30pm, or 6.30pm - 7.30pm) Weeknights $150.00 per court per hour (between 7.30pm - 8.30pm) PULMAN INDOOR ARENA COURT HIRE Clubs may book the Pulman Arena for their own training and trials needs. The cost for 2019 will be $45 per court per hour, based on available court space. All Pulman Arena bookings should be directed to the Pulman Arena office, Email: Colleen.Acton@pulmanpark.com or Ph: 295 0020. NOTE: Please note all fees are non refundable and non-transferrable. Please do not ask for refunds as refusal may offend. PAYMENT OPTIONS: Fees may be paid by cash, EFTPOS and direct credit. PNC does not have Credit Card payment facilities. Please refer to Regulation 17. TEAM ENTRY CRITERIA: All teams must be registered with a suitably qualified umpire. Failure to provide a suitably qualified umpire will result in the team not being given entry approval. Umpires shall be named for two (2) teams only, over all grades. Please refer to Regulations 7.1 e - i. Acceptance of all entries will be at the discretion of Papakura Netball Centre. To express interest to enter the Papakura Netball Centre Winter club competition, you will need to fill out a Team Grading & Umpire Registration Form and a Club Affiliation Form. CLUB DUTY: Each Club will be rostered per season to undertake Club Duty. Clubs will be required to submit 8 people (must be over 18 years of age) to perform Club Duty on the day and time that Club is rostered by the Office. Club Duty consists of Control Room Supervision, futureFERNS hoops & goal post pad distribution supervision & Team signature sheet check duties. Please refer to Regulation 13.2. TEAM DUTY: Each team will be rostered a maximum of five (5) times per season to undertake Team Duty. Teams Duty must be completed immediately after the round played, as rostered. Teams should report to the Control Room after the team duty has been completed. The Team Duty roster is identified after each round of games on the draw ie; “Team Name TD1 = Team Duty No. 1. The Team Duty task list is available on our website and in the Control Room window. Please refer to Regulation 13.1. TEAM SIGNATURE SHEETS: Team signature sheets must be completed correctly for every game a team plays, and shall be submitted to the Control Room prior to the commencement of each game. Please refer to Regulation 11.2 a & b. REGISTRATION CHECK: Regular checks on player registration forms and team signature sheets will be made by the PNC Office, PNC Committee and other delegated personnel. In the event of a team playing a non-financial player, that team shall lose by default. IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONTINUED CANCELLATIONS: The Papakura Netball Centre club competition and tournaments are played rain, hail or shine. The only reason games may be cancelled is if deemed unsafe by the Duty Umpire and Duty PNC Committee mem- ber, due to extreme weather or poor court surface conditions. There will be no cancellations, except in the circumstances provided in Regulation 22. DEFAULTS: All defaults must be notified to the PNC Office by 3.00pm of the working day prior to the scheduled game. All defaults will be emailed to the Team Managers immediately following notification of default. Please refer to Regulation 11.5. PNC COMMITTEE: The PNC Netball Committee is a group of volunteers who give us their valuable time, to assist the PNC Office to ensure the Saturday club competition runs efficiently during the season. Each PNC Committee member holds a portfolio of responsibility - please refer to the “Contacts” section of this information pack for details of these portfolios’. PNC Committee members are identified by red “PNC” Shirts and can be found in the Officials Lounge or Control rooms during the club competition and tournaments. PLAYERS TRANSFERRING TO/FROM NEW CLUBS: Should your Club be accepting new players from other clubs, we recommend a designated Club Official contact the previous Club to ensure that the transferring player’s financial obligations have been met for the previous season(s). FIRST AID PROCEDURE: Active Physio is contracted to Papakura Netball Centre and are all first aid trained personnel. They are present on Saturday’s between hours of 8am - 2.30pm and are located in the Medic room next to the Officials Lounge. All teams should be responsible for their own first aid in the first instance In the event of a serious medical emergency, go immediately to the control room Give clear directions of what the injury possibly is and where the injured person is The PNC Committee member on duty will relay the information and direct Active Physio personnel to the injured person. If after 2.30pm, the PNC Committee member will either phone an ambulance or coordinate delivery of injured party to the Takanini A&E. OPENING DAY / DRESS PARADE: Papakura Netball Centre has a long standing tradition of hosting an official Opening Day and Club Dress Parade on the first competition day of the domestic season. All games are paused for 45 minutes, special dignitaries and guests are invited to attend, judges are selected from these special guests to chose the winners of the dress parade special awards: Best Banner Best Dressed Junior & Senior Teams Best Dressed Club The Opening Day ceremony is also a chance for us to recognise new Service Award and Life Member Award recipients. CLUB COMPETITION FORMAT Papakura Netball Centre provides three rounds of 5 week club competition (15 weeks in total), during the winter months. Round 1 = “Presidents” round, followed by two “Championship” rounds. COMPETITION GRADES (dependent on team entries): Senior Premier 1 - 3; A; A Reserve; B; B Reserve; 3rd; 4th (age 13 and over) Collegiate Premier; A; B; C; D (Y7 - Y13, must be school student) U15 A - D (Y7 - Y10, must be under 15 as at 1st January) Intermediate A - H (Year 7 & Year 8 students only) futureFERNS Non Competition (Year 1 - 6 students only) GRADING: Prior to the commencement of the Presidents Round, grading games are coordinated for each competition grade. The duration and frequency of grading games are determined by the PNC Office each year. Team grade placement following grading, is at the discretion of the PNC Office. Please refer to the Grading Information Sheet for details of this seasons grading format. FORMAT: Senior Premier Grade: Grade consists of 3 x sections 6 x teams per section (at discretion of PNC) Round Robin x 5 weeks (Presidents Round) Promotion/Relegation from bottom of grade above and top of grade below Some Senior Premier teams may depart to take part in the Regional Premier League competition, and reduction of Premier Grade sections may then be necessary Round Robin x 10 weeks (Championship Rounds) All other Grades (excluding Y1 - Y4 futureFERNS): Grades consist of maximum 6 x teams and minimum of 5 x teams per section Round Robin x 5 weeks (Presidents Round) Promotion/Relegation from bottom of grade above and top of grade below Round Robin x 10 weeks (Championship Rounds) COMPETITION DAYS: Unless otherwise specified, all club competition games are played on Saturday’s in a series of 3 rounds. futureFERNS Y1 - Y4 is a 10 week programme and is perfect for newcomers to netball, is non-competition and played indoors. REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS Opportunities are available for Coaches, Managers and Umpires to be part of the Netball Academy and Representative programme. Rep Team Officials (Coaches & Managers) applications will be available online to all clubs from 9th March (closing date for applications 31st March) and if necessary, interviews will be conducted in April. If you are interested there are ongoing opportunities which may align with your Coaches (or Managers) aspirations. Online Rep Trial individual registrations will open on 24th March, closing on 28th April 2019. NOTES: As per the Netball New Zealand Netball Delivery Structure, players may play Club netball at more than 1 Netball Centre as long as those Centres fall within the Northern Zone boundary. Nominations can be made by an affiliated member or club or Board member. A service award may be nominated for outstanding service to the centre in the following areas: Administration Managing Coaching Umpiring Playing A combination of all the above LIFE MEMBERSHIP: The life member award acknowledges an individual for their significant contribution to PNC with a minimum of 10 years service. The holding of a service award is a pre-requisite for a PNC Life Membership Award. It is emphasised that the life membership qualifications involves more than sustained excellence in routine duties over many years in club work and netball centre work, whether these facts are taken singularly or in combination. Service & Life Membership Awards are confirmed at the Annual General Meeting.
