seek, share, rejoice - stewardship... To Teach Who Christ Is Capital Campaign In the fall of 2016, we announced our participation in To Teach Who Christ Is, a captital campaign to benefit important minis- tries in the Archdiocese of Chicago and parishes. We joined with faithful from across the Archdiocese who are also pledging their commitment to ensure our local Church is strong and vibrant for years to come. Through our participation we have the opportunity to live out our call to serve as disciples of To Teach Who Christ Is Christ and to share in meeting Capital Camaign the needs of our local Church. We also have the opportunity to meet needs within our par- ish. We spent several months determining how best to use the funds raised through our campaign. Through your faithful support of the capital campaign, we $5,285,768 $2,775,091 have already completed several projects, including the Sisters’ residence, Religious Education Center, Youth Ministry Center, a school STEM Lab, the Parish Pledges Collections Ministry Center, Hickey Hall, the to Date to Date hearing loop and enhancements to the sound system, as well as the steps and plaza in front of the Church. We've retained JNKA Architects to lead the consultation process for the Master Plan to help us with the next phase of the capital campaign. Your input is critical to the success of our planning. Your continued support of the capital campaign will help us achieve our goals. Parish Ministry Center Improvement Work is underway to install a handicap accessible ramp at the entrance to the Parish Ministry Center. The project is expected to take six to eight weeks. Please use caution near the construction area, especially being mindful of families, children and vehicles. We anticipate a short time, about a week, when the front door will not be accessible and visitors will be directed to the Religious Education Center entry. Parishioner Input Needed JNKA Architects has been retained to prepare a Master Plan for the parish and is requesting that parishioners complete a short questionnaire (available on page 3 and on our parish website homepage) about our campus and facilities. A town hall is scheduled July 9 at 7:00 pm in McDonnell Hall. All parishioners are welcome to attend and share suggestions. 4 JUNE 24, 2018 • olphglenview.org

He has a strong layman’s under- standing of the science and latest research. He has worked closely with leading experts at major gatherings around the world. Jim knows that climate change is real, largely human-caused (anthropogenic) and very likely the greatest single threat to planetary life and human culture. Major storms, flooding, droughts are all increas- ing in frequency and intensity and pose large-scale threats to human life and property. He will survey the science, explore key arguments for global climate change, spotlight the politics of energy, and respond openly to questions and controversy. He’ll explain why the most frequent claims made by climate skeptics and deniers are simply wrong. But it won’t be all bad news. Jim will show how we can make significant changes that will diminish climate ef- fects that might otherwise be catastrophic. Join us. All that is required is goodwill and a spirit of open inquiry. It is virtually guaranteed that all participants will learn something new. Jim Kenney, a director of the1993 and 1999 Parliaments of World Religions, is a renowned leader in the movement for global interreligious understanding and cooperative common action. He is the co-founder of Common Ground, a center for adult learning, based in Deerfield. JUNE 24, 2018 • olphglenview.org 5

Each grade covers its own specific area of doctrine and Catholic- Christian living geared to the religious development of that age. Just as each year builds upon the previous year’s study, each year is also important to the religious maturity of the child. Acquiring Christian attitudes and skills for moral decision making in light of faith requires consistent and continuous exposure to these values both at home and within the more formal Religious Education program. Please visit the RE page of the parish website for more information.
