School vision and context School vision statement School context We are committed to providing high quality education in a nurturing, inclusive and Schofields Public School is located in the North West growth area of Sydney. The innovative learning environment; so that all students continually improve and are active community is growing rapidly and enrolments are increasing. The enrolment for the start of participants in their learning and inspired to be their best. 2021 is 858 with 65% of students from a non-English speaking background. The school enjoys strong support from parents, families and the local community. Our teachers are committed to providing high quality education in a nurturing, inclusive and innovative learning environment so that all students are active participants in their learning and inspired to be their best. The school has recently had a major upgrade to facilities for staff and students. The new facilities feature shared collaborative learning spaces for students and staff including three learning spaces to cater for students with additional needs. A collaborative team teaching approach is central to our plans to build high collective teacher efficacy. Parents have indicated they value for their children: a love of learning, care and respect for self and others, high standards, the pursuit of excellence and fairness and social justice. Through our situational analysis, we have identified a need to use data driven and evidence based practices that ensure all students have access to engaging learning that is responsive to their needs. Further work will need to occur around how teachers can collaboratively plan and deliver quality differentiated instruction to students to ensure our students become confident, creative, collaborative and informed citizens. The growing student population requires us to proactively plan to ensure students have a positive sense of belonging and wellbeing. Through the NAPLAN gap analysis, the school has identified system-negotiated target areas in Reading and Numeracy. Page 2 of 8 Schofields Public School (3046) -2021-2024 Printed on: 1 April, 2021
