Instruction will take place as teachers see fit based upon our approved ACT College Readiness curriculum. Scholars will be assigned their work through Google Classroom (each classroom will have their own Google Classroom code, which will be provided to scholars and families) and will be required to submit all work electronically. All instructional materials will be electronic (textbooks are not permissible during instructional time to ensure the health safety of everyone). Each classroom will be equipped with a classroom set of Chromebooks to allow scholars to engage in learning during class time. Scholars will be provided their instructional schedule either during orientation and/or during the first week of school. Scholars are expected to follow the provided schedule to ensure they satisfy the state of Indiana CORE 40 graduation requirements. Students will NOT be allowed to share learning materials. Each scholar will be assigned a seat in every class and expected to sit in their assigned seats for the duration of the class/period. To ensure the health safety of everyone, scholars will be seated in rows in all classes. Our goal is to provide instruction to scholars as best as possible while following the CDC health guidelines and maximizing scholars’ learning experiences. Curriculum & Student Instructional Materials All curricula are designed based upon ACT College Readiness Standards to ensure scholars are more successful with the ACT exam. Scholars will NOT have access to textbooks; therefore, all instructional materials and resources will be provided electronically. Teachers will be required to upload assignments via Google Classroom, and scholars will be responsible for submitting completed assignments electronically via Google Classroom. Each teacher will provide scholars with their Google Classroom access code so that scholars can access learning materials and resources both in school and at home. Parents/Guardians are highly encouraged to use the Google Classroom access code to log into Google Classroom and support their scholar with academic success. Google Classroom will be the primary platform for assigning and sharing assignments and learning materials. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to provide scholars with the essentials needed for learning such as pencils, pens, notebooks, etc. Please be reminded that scholars will NOT be able to share materials, so it is pertinent that each scholar comes to school everyday with the necessary tools they need to be successful in all of their classes. Diverse Learners & English Language Learners Our diverse learners will be provided academic supports through our Department of Specialized Supports (DSS). Our DSS department is staffed with five paraprofessionals who push into classrooms to support scholars during instruction and who pull scholars out when needed to provide individualized support in a smaller setting. The paraprofessional will be in classrooms to reinforce and supplement instruction that is provided by the teacher. Paraprofessionals will focus on
