UPDATE FEBRUARY 2021
Padiwacks will remain open for nursery children from 7am to NURSERY
6:30pm. We will also continue to provide care for before and HOLIDAY CARE
after school keyworking children across our 21 schools in
Padiham & Burnley. Please note that Parents cannot currently BREAKFAST CLUB
enter our setting. If you wish to look round our setting you will AFTER SCHOOL CARE
need to book an evening slot from 6:20pm.
We use electronic learning journals in our nursery so you can
securely track your child's development online. We follow the
national curriculum so you can check your child's progress
electronically. You can also register conveniently online. Our
site was redeveloped and decorated in 2020 externally and
internally. We have also included a number of photos of our
setting in this welcome pack. You can download our registration

WELCOME
Padiwacks is located in the Town Centre on Wyre Street, Padiham,
BB12 8DF. Our building was recently painted professionally externally
in May 2020 and has been decorated internally throughout 2020 with
new carpets and non-slip flooring. We have been providing nursery
care, before school, after school and holiday care for over 20 years.
We are situated opposite the Tesco car park. We have an agreement
so you can use this car park, or just park directly outside our nursery.
The nearest motorway (M65) is around 5 minutes drive from our
Padiham site. We can take 95 children. Our setting is over 3,800
square feet of internal space with 7 rooms on 3 floors. We also have
our own secure outside area with a 20 foot canopy.
Burnley Bees is based at St. Mary's School, Holcombe Drive, Burnley,
BB10 4BH. It is situated close to Burnley FC. We provide before
school, after school care and holiday care. We have our own
dedicated secure area. There is parking available on Holcombe Drive
and the nearest motorway is 7 minutes drive.
Our aim is to provide the best possible service and to achieve this we
employ qualified experienced staff (playworkers, nursery staff and OPEN
qualified teachers). All our staff access relevant training including
7am
first aid, safeguarding and we are registered with an online childcare
training provider to ensure our staff keep updated.

We use electronic learning journals for nursery aged children so
Parents can track their child's development securely. We also hold
parents meetings and have the ability to communicate updates and
progress via the online journal.

OUR NURSERY / PARENTS / FEES
OUR NURSERY
Our aim at Padiwacks nursery is to work closely with Parents. We
accommodate all shift patterns and provide 15 & 30 hours FREE
childcare for eligible 2 year old children and all 3 & 4 year old's.
The main benefit for Parents is that you can start your session at
your convenience.
The baby room is based on the ground floor. We can take up to 15
babies. The baby room was refurbished in November 2019,
including new flooring. We do not allow any external footwear in
this room.
Our toddler room is also on the ground floor and was recently
refurbished in April 2020. We can take over 20 toddlers.
The preschool room is based on the first floor and is split into two
rooms. This area has new flooring in June 2019. We can take over
30 children in this area.
All our rooms incorporate all the areas of learning and
development in line with the National Curriculum.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) throughout
our setting. We have an experienced qualified teacher who
works with the pre-school children and a number of experienced
nursery practitioners with professional qualifications.
We pride ourselves on the development of our staff.
PARENTS AS PARTNERS
We will provide a log in so you can track your child's progress
electronically. We use 'Octopus Electronic Learning Journals'
which is an established bespoke company who work specifically
with nurseries in the UK. This can become a two way process
where you can share home events and we will link to planning,
observations and the development matters framework which is
all part of the learning journey. We also have termly parents
meetings and a qualified member of staff will go through your
childs development. We also work with reception teachers and
work closely with all the schools in the area so that your child is
ready for reception class.

Full time nursery fees start from only £74 per week if you PER WEEK
get 30 hours free childcare. Our fees include snacks,

OUR NURSERY / HEALTHY MEALS / UPDATES
OUTSIDE PLAY & EDUCATION
We have our own secure outside play area at our nursery.
We follow the national curriculum which includes outside
play and development. Many children thrive outside and
develop so we continue to observe and plan for the
children to enhance their learning through play. We
have two sheds where we store our outside toys which
also gives the children independence to help them grow.
Padiwacks also has a mini bus and we do take the older
pre-school children on trips and to visit parks. In addition
we take the children into the community and they visit the
library, supermarkets and shops.

meals and snacks, which contributes towards keeping them healthy"
HEALTHY MEALS
We are committed to providing healthy, nutritious and
tasty food for all the children who attend our setting. The
Nursery Manager, chef and staff will ensure that all the
food and drink is safely prepared. We cater for all dietary
requirements and cultural preferences. We regularly
update the menu and you can view the latest menu online.
We are responsible for providing all the food and we
cannot accept any food from parents onto our premises.
REGULAR UPDATES
We hold regular monthly meetings with Parents. Of course
in the current situation from March 2020 we cannot hold
meetings at site but we encourage feedback electronically
so we can continue to improve our setting by working
closely with parents. We provide a monthly newsletter
which is available on our homepage and is also displayed
by the front door at our setting. There are also regular
updates via all social media including facebook, twitter and
instagram.

BREAKFAST CLUB & AFTER SCHOOL CARE IN PADIHAM
We have been providing out of school care for 20 years in
Padiham & Burnley. We recently refurnished our top floor in
February 2020. Our dedicated team collect from 14 schools in the
Padiham area and beyond. We collect at 3:15pm, 3:30pm and also
collect children from after school activities at 4:30pm and later if
required, We also have a team of drivers that all have DBS, first
aid training, safeguarding and all other relevant training.
The older children access the setting directly onto the middle
floor and use the stairs for their own area. There are 3 rooms
dedicated to our Out of School club. The children also have
access to our outside area and we also use local facilities for
football and various team sports. There is a large room for
painting and various activities, a games room including air
hockey, indoor basketball, table football and a pool table. We
also have a TV room which includes games consoles.
After school care ONLY £10 including homemade
meal & dessert till 7pm
HOLIDAY CLUB IN PADIHAM
We love our holiday club and we are committed to ensure that the
children have a brilliant time. Everything is included and that starts
with nutrition from healthy breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner
(these are subject to session times booked and attended). We have
our own mini bus and we take our children all over Burnley and
beyond. We participate in a number of events including archery,
canoeing, orienteering, football, play centres, dance and so on. We
just want to get them out and about daily and give them as many
opportunities as possible. We do of course have our own setting and
the children have their own area where they can relax. We provide
the children with technology including tablets and game consoles
and we have three rooms with all the facilities: table tennis, arts etc.
HELP WITH CHILDCARE COSTS
There are approximately one million families who are missing
out on £2,000 savings every year with childcare costs by
registering with tax free childcare (if you don't qualify for tax
or universal credits). We are registered with OFSTED so most
(if not all) families can 'tap into' some form of help with
childcare costs.. and why not? Students can also get help so

We collect from 8 schools in the Burnley area. Our
Burnley site also has dedicated experienced staff
who work closely with all the Parents and children.
This ensures we build a strong bond and help the
children feel confident and part of a team. They're
a team of Mums and form a natural bond and we
receive countless compliments about the quality of
service and friendliness of the team. Our Burnley
team also have childcare qualifications, including
early years. Our club is based in a dedicated room
and has numerous facilities including a projector for
background kids movies, game consoles, arts, crafts
and plenty resources to keep them entertained. We
also have access to the outside play areas.

You can claim up to 85% of childcare fees. You just
drop them off and we take care of everything else.
We want the children to have a fantastic time so we
plan ahead to ensure that their time is fun,
innovative and provides long lasting happy
memories. We ensure they are provided with
healthy homemade meals and dessert. We have our
own mini bus so they're not stuck in one location.
Our clubs receives lot's of compliments and we're
constantly looking at new ideas, events or trips to
safe locations such as parks.
