HURSTPIERPOINT COLLEGE SAYERS COMMON HURSTPIERPOINT COLLEGE HURSTPIERPOINT HASSOCKS DITCHLING CLAYTON NEWTIMBER BN6 AWARD FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP FROM YEAR 7 THROUGH TO SIXTH FORM ENTRY 2021 AN OPPORTUNITY TO TRANSFORM YOUR CHILD’S FUTURE
Dear Parent In 2002, Hurstpierpoint College set up an Endowment Fund in order to provide assisted places for academically gifted children who would flourish at the college, but who could not attend without some major financial support. This is very much in keeping with the charitable ideas of the college’s founder, Nathaniel Woodard. As a result, in September 2015 we launched the BN6 Award which is available to very able boys and girls who will make a tremendous contribution to the life of the college, both academically but also through extra-curricular activities, such as Music, Sport or Drama. The college has had close ties with the local community for more than 150 years and it seems fitting that the beneficiaries of this fund should be children who live close to the college, in the BN6 postcode. BN6 award holders, as any other award holder at Hurst, will not be seen as a breed apart, but as full members of our community who have a distinct role to play. During their time at the college, they will be well supported with every step taken to ensure that they make the most of their time here and the best of their own abilities. In this respect they are like every other pupil, but there is a recognition they have something particular to offer the rest of the school. Being an award holder is not only an honour and a privilege, but also a very real responsibility. I hope the following pages answer all the questions you might have in respect of this award, but please do get in touch with Christina Treadaway (either by email: christina.treadaway@hppc.co.uk or by phone: 01273 836927) should you have any queries or wish to arrange a visit or taster day. I look forward to welcoming you and your child to Hurst to explore the opportunities we have to offer. Yours sincerely Tim Manly
