This term has been busy with our students being able to participate once again in 88% extra curricular activities such as R-5 swimming and school camp for our Year 6/7 students at Wallaroo. Thank you to all of our amazing, dedicated Week 8 & 9 staff for organising these experiences for our students. Wild Times at Wallaroo for Christies Campers On the 7th - 9th of September the year 6/7 students from Christie’s Beach Primary School went to the active education campsite at cu @ Wallaroo to indulge in new learning opportunities and team building activities. On this extravagant event the year 6/7 students were accompanied by the magnificent staff from Christie’s Beach Primary School, namely Mr. Marcus, Mr. Currie, Miss. Baxter and Jen L. Whilst at the campsite the Christie’s kids and staff participated in a range of activities that included wood oven pizza making, disco with florescent body paint, orienteering, survival bracelet making and teambuilding. The pizza making involved getting in to different groups that participated in making a variety of different pizzas, to accommodate the variety of diets to suit the needs of students and staff. The disco was lots of fun and we got to put glow in the dark body paint all over faces and white t-shirts whilst also celebrating the 26th (????? ) birthday of one very special Mr. Currie. The birthday celebrations included a rather delightful birthday cake. The boys participated in a hilarious dance battle with the girls which culminated in Manaia falling on his face trying to jump over the boys {the girls won}. Further activities included a quiz night, orienteering and squiding in which Zion caught a small squid, however this was rather inadequate because we had to feed 58 students. We also had a surprise visit from Miss V who helped decorate Mr Currie’s cake and showed off her waitressing skills by serving the students their dinner. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff from Christie’s Beach Primary School for accommodating our ‘wonderful’ behaviour although Mr. Marcus did release his inner Sergeant Major with his hair raising, blaring voice at the boy’s cabins on the last night of camp.
