Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
One of the most excep onal parts of belonging to Saint Columban Parish is the feeling of belonging: we are
part of something much greater than any one person. Our Church connects us all–as
neighbors, as a community, as children of God and followers of Christ.
I am heartened by all the good work I see accomplished through our parishioners’ dedica on of their gi s of
me, talent and treasure. From faith forma on, to outreach in the community, to social and community
ac vi es, our parish is alive in the spirit.
For 2021, our PSA goal is $200,000 I am confident that together we can reach this extraordinary goal. Think
how much of an impact these funds can make, not only in our parish, but in the greater Catholic community
as well.
Last year, our rebate was used to to help maintain the campus, purchase a new hea ng system for the con-
vent, and to help with expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, our parish rebate will be used to
re-do the en re parking lot and to help with our future plan to install solar power on the school lunch table
shelter.
We've included a pledge envelope for your considera on and return, detailing the various payment op ons
and guidelines to help you determine what your gi will be. It is important that you prayerfully discern and
listen to your heart when making your decision for your pledge.
Your response to God’s generosity is of great consola on to me as your pastor, and I hope that I can count on
your par cipa on this year. I am invi ng you to join me and your parish family in making your pledge on our
commitment weekend of Febuary 20 & 21 2021. Your con nued support is a great encouragement to me in
my ministry here at Saint Columban Parish as we con nue our work of Christ.

We thank you for your participation ongoing support in providing for the ongoing operating needs of our parish
during the stay at home pandemic. We’re honored you would bless us with your generosity. Donations like
yours make a big difference in the work our church is doing in the community.
Our weekly operating budget is $28,000.00. But we can’t pull this off without your support. Whether you give to
the church on a regular basis, or just attend on occasion, we’re asking you to please use the envelopes -
they help you remember and keep us on target or donate to the church electronically and help us save money
on parish envelopes.

drop boxes located in the church and at the front door of the parish office.
A Note to all Parishioners
On behalf of the team who counts Collections for St. Columban Church, a blessed thank you for all who
have contributed to the support of our Parish each week, particularly in this season of pandemic and the
upheaval it has caused to our lives. We are so grateful for your continued generosity and want you to know how
you can help us make the accountability of funds easier for our bookkeeper.
Our first suggestion is that when you write a check, please make it out clearly to St. Columban Church.
Then place your Parish Directory System number on the memo line. If you cannot remember this PDS
number, please call the front office and they will look it up for you. Keep it in your checkbook for reference.
If you use envelopes, look for this PDS number above your name.
Our second suggestion regards loose money placed in the baskets. If you choose to fold your bills,

We have served ST. COLUMBAN church for over 40 years.
WE DISTRIBUTE FOOD ON A MONTHLY BASIS TO FAMILIES IN NEED.
Please call our office at 714-539-9133 if you need help with food during these difficult times.
St. Vincent de Paul Society would like to thank the wonderful parishioners of St. Columban Church who help
feed our families in need. During this past Christmas season we provided food to 125 families. We were also
able to give toys to 85 families with 256 children from ages one to thirteen. All of this happened because of
your generous contributions to special collections that support our ministry, including donations given in the
monthly envelopes. We are most grateful for your help!
Over the past several months, the plight of those without housing as well as others in need have
been heavy on the hearts of those of our fellow Parishioners who have participated in our
Persons In Need (PIN) program and perhaps yourselves. After a good deal of discernment and
prayer, and in collaboration with Bridget, we have determined that we would be able to provide
a lunch to go on 2 Saturdays a month, of course consistent with Covid-19 practices.
Our offering will include:
A boxed or bagged lunch and a bottle of water
A small hand sanitizer and masks
Meals will be distributed between 11:30 and 12:00 in the driveway at the White House on the
first and last Saturdays of every month.
Our guests will be asked to respect social distancing, adhering to the markers we will be using
We’ll have a table with the meals and our meal sponsor will be six feet on the other side of the
table directing our guests to grab a lunch and water
We’re going to ask them to go to a local park or return to where they stay to enjoy their meal as
we don’t want to create issues with our neighbors

Kính thưa anh chị em trong Chúa Giê-su Ki-tô,
Một trong những yếu tố căn bản khi chúng ta nói thuộc về Giáo Xứ Thánh Columban đó là sự cảm nhận thuộc về của
chúng ta. Chúng ta là chi thể của một đại gia đình chứ không thuộc về một cá nhân. Chính Giáo Hội Công Giáo đã gắn
kết chúng ta lại như là một Cộng đoàn con cái của Chúa, và môn đệ của Chúa Giê-su Ki-tô.
Tôi cảm mến và biết ơn tất cả những hy sinh và đóng góp của anh chị em trong việc dấn thân phục vụ Nhà Chúa như
đóng góp thời gian, tài năng, và tài chánh để xây dựng Giáo Xứ, qua những sứ vụ khác nhau như Giáo dục Đức n Công
giáo cho các em và anh chị em dự tòng, thăm viếng, tham gia các Hội đoàn, tham gia các hoạt động chung của Giáo xứ;
Đó là dấu chỉ Thần khí của Chúa đang hoạt động trong Cộng đoàn chúng ta.
Năm 2021, mục êu chỉ số cho Quỹ Mục Vụ (PSA) là $200,000. Tôi n chắc chắn rằng chúng ta sẽ đạt được chỉ êu này
khi cộng tác cùng nhau. Việc đóng góp Quỹ Mục Vụ (PSA) không những chỉ giúp Giáo xứ, nhưng cũng giúp cả Cộng Đoàn
Ki-tô Giáo. Năm vừa qua, việc đóng góp của chúng ta đã sửa sang lại khuôn viên Giáo xứ, hệ thống máy sưởi mới cho
nhà ở của các Sơ, và giúp Giáo xứ tồn tại trong cơn đại dịch Covid 19. Việc đóng góp năm nay sẽ giúp Giáo xứ tu sửa lại
các khu đậu xe, và dự án dùng điện năng lượng mặt trời cho Giáo xứ.
Tôi xin gửi anh chị em lá thư này cùng bao thư và mong muốn được hồi âm. Anh chị em sẽ theo sự hướng dẫn chi ết
trong đó để quyết định việc đóng góp tuỳ lòng hảo tâm của anh chị em.
Sự đóng góp rộng rãi của anh chị em là sự khích lệ lớn đối với tôi trong vai trò là cha Xứ. Tôi hy vọng rằng chúng ta cùng
hứa đóng góp vào cuối tuần 20 và 21 tháng 2 năm 2021.
Tôi sẽ nhớ đến anh chị em và gia đình trong lời cầuu nguyện của tôi.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
Una de las partes más excepcionales de pertenecer a la Parroquia de San Columbano es el sentimiento de
pertenecía: somos parte de algo mucho más grande que cualquier persona. Nuestra Iglesia nos conecta a
todos, como vecinos, comunidad, hijos de Dios y seguidores de Cristo.
Me alienta todo el buen trabajo que veo realizado a través de la dedicación de nuestros feligreses: sus dones,
su tiempo, sus talentos y tesoro. Desde la formación en la fe hasta los alcances de la comunidad, actividades
sociales y comunitarias, nuestra parroquia está viva en el espíritu.
Para el 2021, nuestra meta de PSA es de $ 200,000. Estoy seguro de que juntos podemos alcanzar esta extra-
ordinaria meta. Piense en el impacto que estos fondos pueden tener, no sólo en nuestra parroquia,
sino también en la comunidad Católica en general.
El año pasado, nuestro reembolso se utilizó para el mantenimiento de la planta física, compra de un nuevo
sistema de calefacción para el convento y ayuda con los gastos durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Este año,
nuestro reembolso parroquial se utilizará para rehacer todo el estacionamiento y ayudar con nuestro plan
futuro de instalación de energía solar en el techo de las mesas de almuerzo de la escuela.
Hemos incluido un sobre de compromiso para su consideración y devolución, detallando las diversas opcio-
nes de pago y pautas para ayudar a determinar cuál será su donativo. Es importante que en oración discierna
y escuche a su corazón al tomar la decisión de su compromiso.
Su respuesta a la generosidad de Dios es un gran consuelo para mí como su párroco, y espero poder contar
