Welcome GREETING ONE ANOTHER We greet one another in the name of the Lord using words such as, “Peace be with you.”
Prayer of the Day P: Let us pray. Holy God, your word feeds your people with life that is eternal. Direct our choices and preserve us in your truth, that, renouncing what is false and evil, we may live in you, through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. C: Amen
Word: Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23 A Reading from Proverbs the Twenty-second Chapter
Word: Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23 L: 1A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. 2The rich and the poor have this in common: the LORD is the maker of them all.
Word: Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23 8Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of anger will fail. 9Those who are generous are blessed, for they share their bread with the poor. 22Do not rob the poor because they are poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate;
Word: Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23 23for the LORD pleads their cause and despoils of life those who despoil them. (Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23)
Word: Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23 L: Word of God. Word of Life. C: Thanks be to God.
Word: Mark 7:24-37 Please stand as you are able for the reading of the gospel. P: The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark the Seventh Chapter. C: Glory to you, O Lord
Word: Mark 7:24-37 P: 24From there he set out and went away to the region of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know he was there. Yet he could not escape notice,
Word: Mark 7:24-37 25but a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him, and she came and bowed down at his 26 feet. Now the woman was a Gentile, of Syrophoenician origin. She begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
Word: Mark 7:24-37 27He said to her, "Let the children be fed first, for it is not fair to take the children's 28 food and throw it to the dogs." But she answered him, "Sir, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
Word: Mark 7:24-37 29Then he said to her, "For saying that, you may go — the demon has left your 30 daughter." So she went home, found the child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.
Word: Mark 7:24-37 31Then he returned from the region of Tyre, and went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the 32 Decapolis. They brought to him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they begged him to lay his hand on him.
Word: Mark 7:24-37 33He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat and touched his tongue. 34Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened."
Word: Mark 7:24-37 35And immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke 36 plainly. Then Jesus ordered them to tell no one; but the more he ordered them, the more zealously they proclaimed it.
Word: Mark 7:24-37 37They were astounded beyond measure, saying, "He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak." (Mark 7:24-37)
Word: Mark 7:24-37 P: This is the Gospel of the Lord. C: Praise to you O Christ.

Worship Song “Abba, I Belong to You”
“Abba, I Belong to You” Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father. Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father God.
“Abba, I Belong to You” I kneel now and feel how I’ve felt here before. This pausing is causing my heart to explore… Why when I’m weary, so often You seem far away. Still I will say:
“Abba, I Belong to You” Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father. Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father God.
“Abba, I Belong to You” What I feel is less real than all that You say. You told me You’d hold me through all of my days. So though my spirit is tossing and turning about, still there’s no doubt.
“Abba, I Belong to You” Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father. Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father God.
“Abba, I Belong to You” Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father. Abba, I belong to You, I belong to You; Abba Father God. You’re my Abba Father God.
