Getting Ready for Check-in welcome.buffalo.edu This brochure is intended to get you ready to move into your Returning Students: UB residence hall. We recommend that you read the entire Fri, August 28, 2015 Greiner Hall only 9 am – 3 pm document to make your move-in experience a smooth one. Sat, August 29, 2015 9 am – 8 pm Sun, August 30, 2015 12 pm – 5 pm Before Move-in Classes Begin: • Make your travel plans and reservations for move-in. Aug. 26, 9 am - 8 pm. Monday, August 31st, 2015. The deadline to cancel *Students checking in early will be billed a $35.00 per night fee if arriving early housing reservations was May 1, 2015. for academic reasons. Non academic arrivals will billed at $50.00. Students who are attending UB for the fall and do not check in by August 31, will be responsible for all room charges, and will forfeit all associated room fees and deposits, and may be subject to room reassignment.
Arrival Check-in Day • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. See unloading locations, overflow Fargo, Porter, Red Jacket, Richmond, Spaulding, and parking areas, and check-in locations on the Check-In Map Wilkeson Quads available in mid-August at housing.buffalo.edu/checkin. Ellicott Area Office, 123 Richmond, Building 2, • Please note that Spaulding, Wilkeson, Richmond, and Goodyear (716) 645-6304 will be very busy on Thursday, August 27, until early afternoon. Check-in Locations Fargo parking lot will be very busy on Saturday as this lot serves Greiner, Fargo, and Porter Halls. Fargo: 261 Fargo (entertainment lounge) • After getting your key and check-in materials, plan the best route Porter: 241 Porter (lounge) to your room based on traffic. Some buildings will have over 500 Red Jacket: Tent outside Red Jacket, Building 1 students checking in on one day. Richmond: Tent outside, Moody Terrace • Begin moving belongings to your room. Spaulding: Tent outside • Free carts are available near all check-in stations. Note: carts Wilkeson: Tent outside, Newcomb Terrace may be helpful in transporting your items, but some buildings are accessible only by stairs. About Ellicott’s Layout • Residence halls in the Ellicott complex each have several buildings Getting Settled (1-8) but not all halls connect at all levels. • Discuss your room set-up with your roommate and start • There may be several possible routes to your room in Ellicott. November 29, 2015 Residence Halls Re-Open • These three-story buildings only have 2 small service elevators (located in Roosevelt 12 pm and Clinton) that will be in operation during Opening Weekend. The Clinton Elevator is available all year long. December 21, 2015 Final Exams End • Governors Halls connect on the second and third floors through a series of corridors.
