F o r m u la t i n g The underlying pigment in the canvas plays a big part in the end result. Make sure to compensate in your formula or pre-tone the hair if needed to create your desired shade. We also recommend strand testing to ensure the best result. The lighter the hair, the brighter the result. Best on Level 9+ Lighter shades Blush, Lemon, Lilac, Mercury, Powder, and Seaglass. d e r s t a n di n g U n k Smo oir e & N Smoke on a white canvas (great) Smoke on a yellow canvas (green) Blue Based Smoke and Noir are both blue based colors, so they need to be carefully formulated to the underlying canvas. Blue was chosen as a base because it has superior fade, and it mixes well with other colors. Important: any remaining yellow in the hair will cause a slightly green end result because the yellow and blue will create the green. Add a small amount of velvet to your Smoke formula to cancel out the yellow in the canvas.

Yes, Pulp Riot colors can all be mixed with each other to created custom colors. Generally Pulp Riot colors don’t bleed like other color lines. You can see on our Instagram feed, hundreds of different photos where one color is placed next to another color without any bleeding.
