Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information None Reported Tips: ❖ Do not display valuable items in windows when closed for business ❖ Contact the Southfield Police Crime Prevention Bureau for a free security inspection (248) 796-5409 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 01/27/2021 20000 Westland Dr. Broke out window On 01/27/2021 Officers were dispatched to the 20000 2:52am on residence. Block of Westland Dr. for a possible Home Invasion in progress. Suspect possibly armed with a knife. Officers arrived on scene and located female suspect on the porch of residence. Officers ordered suspect to the ground, secured her and recovered a box cutter type knife from her purse. Interview with R/P revealed that the suspect and he broke up a couple days ago and he was in his bedroom when he heard the suspect banging on his bedroom window yelling “Let me In.” Victim told the suspect to leave and he was going to call the police. The suspect broke out the window on residence and swung the knife at R/P when he attempted to keep her from entering his residence. The suspect was taken into custody by Officers for Home Invasion & Domestic F/A. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and took photos of victim’s injuries.
01/26/2021 25000 Shiawassee Cir. Entry through Officers were dispatched to the 25000 Block of 9:17pm (Condo’s) second level patio Shiawassee Circle (Condos) for a possible Home door. Invasion in progress. R/P stated that her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend was banging on the front door to her apartment. R/P advised that the female was now climbing up onto the second- floor balcony and was attempting to gain entry though a sliding door. The female gained entry via the sliding door wall and stole some jewelry that was by the door. The suspect fled the area in a White Nissan Altima S/B on Shiawassee towards Eight Mi. Rd. Officer located the suspect vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed e/b on 8 Mile towards Telegraph Rd. After catching up to the vehicle Officer stopped the vehicle. The driver denied any knowledge of any incident in Southfield and stated she was driving home from the airport. The driver was confirmed to be the suspect and she was taken into custody for Home Invasion and MDOP.
01/28/2021 25000 W Twelve Mile Rd Entry was by Victim states she and her boyfriend were at a business 10:35pm (Apartment) climbing up to the in Novi on 1/28/2021 at 8:00pm. Her boyfriend (but second story not exclusive) became upset with her because he balcony and found text messages between her and another male. busting out Her boyfriend took off and left her at the business in window to the Novi. R/P received a ride from her sister and returned kitchen. home at approx. 10:00pm. She immediately noticed her apartment had been broken into and a 40” Visio TV that was on the wall in living room had the picture screen smashed. The only item missing from the apartment was a Sewing Machine that suspect gave her as a gift for Christmas. R/P is certain that her ex- boyfriend did this. Incident is under investigation.
From: 01/29/2021 25000 Shiawassee Rd. Most likely a key Victim states that on 01/29/2021, sometime between 7:30am (Apartments) was used to make 7:30am- 8:15pm victim believes that her ex-boyfriend To: 01/29/2021 entry. came into her apartment and stole an undisclosed 8:15pm amount of cash that she had hidden. Victim states that she has been going through a custody battle with their child in common and other domestic related issues with her ex- boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend recently took her keys for her apartment and she believes he made copies. There was no forced entry apparent on this Home Invasion. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. From: 01/29/2021 25000 Shiawassee Rd. Unknown on Officers were dispatched to the 25000 Block of 5:30pm (Apartments) entry. Possibly Shiawassee Rd. (Apartments) for a reported Home To: 01/29/2021 through unlocked Invasion. Victim states sometime between 5:30pm- 11:30pm patio door. 11:30pm someone entered her apartment and ransacked it. Victim doesn’t believe that anything was taken. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment but the door wall on the second story balcony was left unlocked?
01/30/2021 16000 Cumberland Rd. Entry door into On 01/30/2021, at approx. 8:52am, Officers were 8:52pm (Apartments) the main office dispatched to the 16000 Block of Cumberland from the foyer (Apartment Leasing Office) for a B&E in progress. was forced open. R/P observed a B/M with a black hood and ski mask attempting to force entry into the Leasing Office. R/P no longer could see the subject and believes he made entry into the leasing office. Upon arrival Officer observed a B/M matching the description of suspect, peak out of the front door on the southside of the building and then close the door. Officers immediately set up a perimeter around the building. A short time later Officer observed the suspect climb out a window from the leasing office and flee on foot. Officers gave chase and ordered the suspect to stop. The suspect still had a pry bar in his hands and he was observed breaking and climbing through an egress window into the basement of another apartment building. Officer gave verbal commands for the suspect to stop. When the suspect didn’t comply, he was tased as he jumped down into the basement of apartment building. Officers entered the building and went into the basement where the suspect was located and taken into custody. He was still in possession of a pry bar. Back at the B&E scene, Officers discovered a coin machine from Laundry Room was damaged and the money inside had been taken. Cash was recovered from the suspect during booking. Automobile Thefts: Date/Time Address (block range) Year, Make, Model Details Status From: 01/27/2021 20000 Lahser Rd. S - Stolen Victim states he parked his 2020 Bright Orange 5:00am (Apartments) Manufacturer Dodge Charger in the parking lot at the 20000 DODGE To: 01/27/2021 Model Block of Lahser Rd. (Apartments) at 5:00am on CHARGER 3:30pm Color 01/27/2021. ONG - Orange He returned to his vehicle at 3:30pm the same Vehicle Year day and discovered his vehicle was gone. There 2020 Body Style State was a HP Company Laptop and a pair of MI License Year sunglasses in the vehicle when it was taken. 2021 A Southfield Detective conducted follow-up Description Bright Orange 2020 invest. and recovered surveillance video of the Charger theft. Surveillance Video: Shows victim’s vehicle exiting the parking lot while being pushed by a Black Pickup Truck (Possibly a Dodge Ram 1500). The incident takes place on 01/27/2021 at 7:34am and shows victims Dodge Charger exiting while being pushed by a black pickup truck. The driver of the Charger and the driver of the pickup truck could not be seen on surveillance video.
Status 01/30/2021 25000 Basin St. RS – Recovered Stolen Officer was on routine patrol in the 25000 Block 2:22pm (Apartments) Manufacturer of Basin St. (Apartment Complex) when he DODGE Model observed suspicious vehicle, 2016 White Dodge CHARGER Color Charger with window broken out and no license WHI - White Vehicle Year plate attached. After checking the Vin# it was 2016 State discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen MI out of Detroit on 12/21/2020. Description WHITE 2016 DODGE The vehicle was recovered and DPD was notified CHARGER of the recovery. The license plate that was on the Notes Recovered on 01/30/2021 vehicle is still listed as stolen. No suspect 2:22pm. information. Status 01/29/2021 Evergreen Rd. & W. Nine R - Recovered Officers observed a Silver Jeep Grand Cherokee 1:25pm Mile Rd. Manufacturer JEEP bearing Michigan Dealer Plate travelling S/B Model Evergreen Rd. north of 9 Mile Rd. GRAND CHEROKEE License No. Color (Note: This was possibly vehicle that fled from SIL - Silver or Aluminum Officers recently) Vehicle Year Checking the plate in LEIN returned expired 2018 Body Style 8/3/2020 and listed as a Lost Dealership Plate. 4D - 4 Door State The vehicle was stopped and contact was made MI with the driver and front seat passenger. Description Silver 2018 Jeep Grand Officers ran the Vin# on the dash and it came Cherokee Track hawk Recovered Date/Time back “No Record” The Vin appeared to be off 01/29/2021 1:25pm center and not authentic. Notes Silver 2018 Jeep Grand Both subjects were run through Lein and the Cherokee Track hawk with Yellow Calibers driver came back with an Invalid Michigan Driver’s License. (Suspended) Officers located the hidden VIN# for vehicle and it was run through Lein. It returned as Stolen Vehicle out of Waterford PD.
The plate that was supposed to be on vehicle, was not located. The driver was taken into custody for DWLS 2nd Offense and Fleeing & Eluding regarding previous Offense that occurred on 01/14/2021. Note: Officers recognized this vehicle as a vehicle that fled from them and interviewed the driver about that incident. He made admissions to Officers that he fled from them because he was scared. The stolen vehicle was recovered and investigation regarding Auto Theft is on-going. Status 01/30/2021 28000 Northwestern Hwy. S - Stolen Victim states his vehicle was taken from his 2:53pm (Hotel) Manufacturer parking spot in the front north parking lot at the DODGE Model Hotel in the 28000 Block of Victim parked there CHARGER Color to visit a friend and when he returned about an BLK - Black Vehicle Year hour later he found his vehicle missing. 2017 Body Style Stolen Vehicle Description: 4D - 4 Door 2017 Dodge Charger Scat Pack State MI Color: Matte Black License Year 2020 Identifiers: Dark tint all the way around, Gloss Description Black Dodge Charger black stripe down the middle with blue pinstripes & blue brake calibers. The vehicle has been wrapped matte black and is yellow underneath the wrap.

S - Stolen Victim states he parked his vehicle in the parking 10:45pm (Strip Mall) Manufacturer lot at Strip Mall on Ten Mile Rd. just west of JEEP To: 01/30/2021 Model Telegraph Rd. Sometime between 10:45pm- GRAND CHEROKEE 11:20pm SRT 11:20pm someone stole his 2018 White Jeep Color WHI - White Grand Cherokee SRT barring Alabama License Vehicle Year Plate. No suspect information. 2018 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State AL License Year 2022 Description White 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT (Alabama License Plate) Tips: ❖ Never leave your vehicle running unattended ❖ Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible ❖ Use commercially available security devices
Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details Status 01/27/2021 27000 Franklin Rd. S - Stolen R/P advises that her Driver’s License was lost or 1:50pm (Apartments) Description stolen sometime back in June. R/P went to the Michigan Driver’s License Secretary of State and got a new Driver’s License. A couple months later there was a traffic ticket in her name mailed to her grandmother’s house. The ticket was from Battle Creek Michigan. R/P states she has never been to Battle Creek? R/P was advised to file a report.
Status From: 01/27/2021 22000 Telegraph Rd S - Stolen Victim states she went to business in Livonia on 2:00pm (Hotel) Description 01/27/2021 and purchased a handgun. Her Semi Auto Handgun To: 01/27/2021 friend, who she did not want to identify was with 2:15pm her as well as another person (suspect) her friend brought. After purchasing the gun, she placed it into the trunk of her 2012 Black Dodge Journey. Victim and the two males then went to Hotel in Southfield. They were all in a room when victim went to use the bathroom. When she came out of the bathroom the suspect was gone. She looked outside, saw her trunk was open and the suspect was running to a newer Gray Dodge Durango that picked him up down the street. Further inspection of the trunk of her vehicle she discovered that the suspect had taken her handgun. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. Status From: 01/28/2021 17000 Wiltshire Blvd S - Stolen R/P states he received confirmation notice that 3:10pm To: Manufacturer HyperX his package had been delivered from business on 01/28/2021 Model 01/28/2021 @ 3:10pm. R/P was home when the HX-MICQC-BK 3:25pm Color package was delivered and he went to his front BLK - Black Description porch to get it at 3:25pm and it was gone. HyperX Condenser Microphone No suspect information.
Status 01/29/2021 30000 Southfield Rd. S - Stolen On 01/29/2021, at approx. 1:12pm, a B/M 1:12pm (Commercial- Cellular) Description subject entered the store and started to browse Blue iPhone 12 Pro Max the merchandise. As the employee started to approach the subject the anti-theft alarm was activated and the suspect fled out the exit. The employee looked towards the iPhone display and observed the anti-theft security device was cut from one of the iPhones. The employee observed the B/M suspect enter a White KIA 4-dr. vehicle and leave the area. The suspect is described as a B/M in his 20's, approx. 5'-7", with a medium build. wearing a blue Adidas coat, blue jeans, and a black baseball cap. Status From: 01/30/2021 28000 Telegraph Rd. S - Stolen Victim states he parked his vehicle in the parking 5:15pm (Home Goods/ Groceries) Description lot at business in the 28000 Block of Telegraph Undisclosed amount of Cash. To: 01/30/2021 Rd. on 01/30/2021. Sometime between 5:15pm- 5:40pm >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 5:40pm someone entered his unlocked vehicle Citizens should never leave and stole an undisclosed amount of cash which anything of value in the was in his center console of the vehicle. interior of their vehicles especially cash!!! The male was walking around the parking lot looking in vehicles. Be on the Look Out Highlights: Arrests by SPD Officers: Special Attention: Auto Thefts: Aggravated Felonious Assault/ Obstruct Police- Continuing to see Chrysler/ Dodge Products/ 1- Arrest Dodge Chargers/ Challengers/ High Performance 01/25/2021 7:37pm SRT’s/ Scat Packs & Hell Cats have been taken. 25000 Southfield Rd. Taken This Past Week: (Multi- Office Building) Officers were dispatched to location regarding Domestic Assault. The male caller stated his ex-girlfriend is banging on the door and she pointed a gun at him through the mail slot. Officers arrived on scene and interviewed both parties. Officers recovered a handgun from the female’s vehicle. She 1) 20000 Block of Lahser Rd. denied threatening or assaulting the male half with her handgun. (Apartment Complex) Officers reviewed surveillance video and spoke to an eye witness Surveillance Video: Shows victim’s vehicle exiting the confirming that the female suspect pulled out a handgun from her parking lot while being pushed by a Black Pickup Truck purse and pointed into the office through the mail slot. (Possibly a Dodge Ram 1500). The female was taken into custody for Domestic F/A. The incident takes place on 01/27/2021 at 7:34am and shows victims 2020 Bright Orange Dodge Charger exiting while being pushed by a Black Pickup Truck. The driver of the Charger and the driver of the pickup truck could not be seen on surveillance video. 2) 25000 Block of Basin St. (Recovered Stolen) (Apartments) Officer Fair was on routine patrol in the French Quarter Apartments when he observed suspicious vehicle, 2016 White Dodge Charger with window broken out and no license plate attached. After checking the Vin# it was discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Detroit on 12/21/2020.
The vehicle was recovered and DPD was notified of the Resisting & Obstructing/ Weapons Offense- 1- Arrest recovery. The license plate that was on the vehicle is still 01/27/2021 12:24am listed as stolen. EGV-0711/Mi. J L Hudson Dr. & Providence Dr. No suspect information. Officer was on routine patrol when he observed vehicle with tinted windows. A Lein check on the vehicles plate came back with the registered owner having a Felony Warrant out of Ohio for 3) 28000 Block of Northwestern Hwy. Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Trafficking Marijuana. (Hotel) Continuing to observe the vehicle Officer observed driver commit Victim states his vehicle was taken from his parking spot several traffic violations. No suspect information. type of explosive, two aluminum cases, one with suspected marijuana and one with barber supplies & a gold badge. MSP Bomb Squad was notified and they responded and took
possession of the suspected explosives. They confirmed the one item was a military grade smoke grenade. The investigation is on-going and was submitted to City Attorney for review. Current charges are R&O & Weapons Offense. AOD/ DPD Homicide Arrest: 01/25/2021 3:05pm 8 Mile Rd/ Greenfield Rd. TCSU Officers were requested by a DPD surveillance unit to conduct a traffic stop reference a homicide. The stop was initiated and the person wanted for the homicide was taken into custody. He was turned over to DPD.
CCW- 1- Arrest 01/29/2021 10:42am 15000 Block of Town Ctr. (Hotel) On 01/29/2021, Two Southfield Detectives were at Hotel in the 15000 Block of Town Center attempting to review surveillance footage for a recent incident. As Detectives were speaking with the hotel manager a male and female entered the lobby area. The female was crying and appeared to be in distress. The male appeared to be upset with the female and was acting aggressive. Detectives approached the female and asked her if she was alright. The male answered Detectives saying, “She’s good bro” and walked away towards the elevators. Detectives advised the male to come back. The subject continued walking away and Detectives heard a loud thump when subject was believed to have discarded something into the trash can by the elevators. Detectives who were in plain cloths called for marked units to respond. Additional Officers arrived on scene. When the scene was secured by other officers, Detectives went to the elevator area and located a garbage can that was adjacent to the elevators. They looked inside the garbage can and observed a black handgun sitting in the bottom of the garbage can. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician photographed the handgun and took possession of the firearm. The suspect later admitted to having the gun and he placed it in the trash can after realizing that the Detectives were Police Officers and not security. The suspect also stated that he didn’t have a CPL. Suspect was taken into custody for CCW.
Disorderly Conduct- 1- Arrest 01/31/2021 1:25am 28000 Block of Northwestern Hwy. (Hotel) Officers were dispatched to the 28000 Block of Northwestern Hwy (Hotel) for a room eviction. Occupants are intoxicated and disturbing other tenants. Officers met with the manager and went to Room in question. When they arrived, there was a female screaming for a male to leave. The female was removed from the room and was interviewed by Officer. The second Officer spoke to the male. The male was intoxicated, screaming and while being interviewed kept yelling at the female. He advised that the two were drinking all night and doing some type of inhalant prior to Officers arrival. At some point during the Officers investigation the female started yelling at the male and tried to get back into the room to confront him. When Officer attempted to stop the female, she tried to push past him. She was given several warnings prior to being taken into custody. She was arrested for Disorderly. The male subject was evicted from the room by Hotel Management. Officers stood by until the male was picked up by someone.
Violation of 46th Dist. Court Order - 1- Arrest 01/29/2021 12:30am 25000 Block of Shiawassee (Apartments) Officers were sent to the 25000 Block of Shiawassee on a report of an unwanted person calling the R/P and making threats. The subject was located exiting the parking lot in his vehicle. He took off from the complex at a high rate of speed. Officers caught up to vehicle and stopped the vehicle. An investigation revealed the subject was in Violation of a 46th District Court Order stating, “No Contact” with the R/P. He was arrested and lodged. Violation of Injunctive Order: 01/28/2021 5:22pm 17000 Block of Lee St. (Apartments) Officers responded on a Peace Officer run. A male was found to be in violation of a 6th Circuit Injunctive Order stating, “No Contact” with person residing at this location. The male refused to leave stating he wasn’t leaving until he got what he came for. He was arrested and transported to the Oakland County Jail for processing and lodging.
