Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 03/18/2021 22000 W Eight Mile Rd. Attempt on the A Southfield Police Evidence Technician met with the 3:00am (Commercial- Automotive) Roll Up Door. R/P regarding Attempt B&E that occurred over-night at the business. R/P advises that the incident occurred at 3:00am and was captured on video surveillance. Surveillance video shows three (3) unknown subjects on foot cut a hole in the chain link fence to gain access to the rear area of the business. They attempted to pry open a roll up door. No access was gained into the business, and nothing was taken. It was not possible from the video to determine information on the suspects. No vehicle was seen. Tips: ❖ Do not display valuable items in windows when closed for business ❖ Contact the Southfield Police Crime Prevention Bureau for a free security inspection (248) 796-5409
Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 03/18/2021 23000 Poplar Dr. Attempt Home On 03/18/2021, Officers were dispatched to the 23000 9:25am Invasion. The glass Block of Poplar Dr. on a report of a possible Domestic. on the outer Dispatch advised the suspect was attempting to kick in storm door was the front door of the victim's residence. The suspect busted out. left the scene in a Gray Ford Escape. Entry wasn’t Officers arrived on scene and observed heavy damage gained. to the glass storm door of victim’s residence. The door glass was shattered, with a large pile of broken glass on the porch. Information from victim was she and her girlfriend had broken up a day prior to this incident and her ex- girlfriend has never lived at her residence. Victim states on today's date at approx. 9:15am. suspect attempted to enter her residence by kicking in the exterior storm door, which shattered the glass. Due to the threatening text messages that victim received prior to this she believes suspect intended to enter the residence to harm her. Victim was advised to get a PPO against the suspect. Incident is under investigation.
03/18/2021 21000 Colony Park Cir. Apartment Door Officers were dispatched to residence located in the 12:51pm (Apartments) was kicked off the 21000 Block of Colony Park Circle regarding a Home hinges. Invasion in progress. Officers met with the homeowner that stated the suspect kicked her door down and left prior to Officers arrival. The suspect was described as a B/M with black curly hair. His first name was given to Officers. Victim advises he met the suspect approx. 10 days earlier on a dating app. Victim advised that after kicking the door down she advised suspect that she called the Police. He did not enter the apartment and fled on foot. Another witness that was in the apartment reported that the suspect was wearing a black coat, red/ white shirt, light colored jeans and black shoes. The suspect also had a knife of some type. Officers located possible suspect, a black male, light complexion, with black curly hair walking near 12 Mile & Lahser Rd. Officers confirmed that this subject was the suspect and he was taken into custody for Home Invasion. Officers did not locate a knife on this person.
03/19/2021 17000 Cornell Rd. No forced entry On 03/19/2021, Officers responded to the 17000 Block 12:41pm was noted. of Cornell Rd. for a Home Invasion in progress. Dispatch advised 2 B/M's, one wearing a red hoodie and the other all black clothing, entered through the rear door. Officers arrived on scene and discovered 2- B/M subjects on the roof on the southwest side of the house. Southfield Officers detained both subjects and investigated further. The subjects initially stated they were there to clean the house. One of the subjects stated his father’s friend owned the house but provided no proof of that. Officers checked the residence and there was one door found ajar but there was no forced entry noted. Officers attempted to identify owner of the residence with negative results. Since there was no complainant that could be located, the subjects were advised on Entering w/o Permission, identified and Released Pending Further Investigation. 03/20/2021 28000 Franklin Rd. Attempt Only. Victim states she left her apartment at 3:00pm and 7:23pm (Apartments) The door knob secured the door with the dead bolt. Victim returned was damaged. to her apartment at 7:30pm and there was significant damage to her door knob. Entry was not made into the apartment. Attempt only. No suspect information. There was PACK Color glass from a rear window laying in the grass. BLK - Black There is possibly surveillance video of incident at Vehicle Year 2015 the business next door but it wasn’t available at Body Style State MI time of report. S - Stolen Victim states he parked his 2017 Grey Chrysler 11:00pm (Apartments) Manufacturer 300 at his Apartment Building in the 22000 Block CHRYSLER To: 03/18/2021 Model of Nottingham. Sometime between 11:00pm and 300 7:40am Color when he came back to his vehicle the following GRY - Gray Vehicle Year morning at 7:40am someone stole the vehicle. 2017 Body Style There was evidence of broken glass where the 4D - 4 Door vehicle was parked. Note: Victim received notification to his cellphone from an app. that showed a transaction for $25.00 at a Gas Station located on Livernois in Detroit. The transaction was declined. Spice Rack was taken from 2008 To: 03/17/2021 Dodge Charger. Sometime on 03/17/2021 between 4:00pm- 9:10pm 9:10pm someone broke into her vehicle and ransacked the vehicle including the trunk. A spice rack is missing from the vehicle. No suspect information.
Status 03/19/2021 24000 Telegraph Rd. S - Stolen Victim states on 03/19/2021 she went to 24000 1:29pm (Commercial-Storage Unit) Description Telegraph Rd. (Storage Units) to pay her bill for 2 Hoverboards storage unit. Victim was advised by business that she was one month late on her payment and they had cut her lock off and put one of theirs on the storage unit. When the business took off their lock so victim could get into her storage unit she discovered that 2- Hoverboards were missing from the unit. No suspect information. Status From: 03/20/2021 25000 Grodan Dr. S - Stolen Victim advises she parked her vehicle at her 10:00pm (Apartments) Description residence located in the 25000 Block of Grodan, Mail and Paperwork & Multiple To: 03/21/2021 Business Cards were taken from (Apartment Complex) on 3/20/21 at 10:00pm. 5:00pm 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The following day at 5:00pm victim came out to her vehicle and noticed the front passenger door was slightly ajar and the inside was ransacked. Nothing of value was taken but her business cards and pieces of mail with her name and address were taken from the vehicle. Victim suspects a neighbor who she hung out with a couple times but doesn’t associate with him anymore.

He then accused victim of hiding things on her phone and got upset with her. When victim attempted to leave their hotel room he blocked the door and wouldn’t let her leave and requested the phone from her. Victim stated no and fled to the lobby of the hotel. A struggle ensued in the lobby and the victim ended up on the floor and her boyfriend forcefully took her phone from her. The suspect fled the hotel on foot. Victim suffered a small scrape on her right hand. Officers searched the area for the suspect but he wasn’t located. Investigation is on-going. Be on the Look Out Highlights: Arrests by SPD Officers: Special Attention: Attempt Arson at Gas Station OWI= Operate While Impaired 03/19/2021 1:08am OUIN= Operate Under Influence Narcotics 19000 Block of W Nine Mile Rd. LFA= Larceny from Auto (Gas Station) R&C= Receiving & Concealing Stolen Property On 03/19/2021 at 1:08am Officers responded to Gas DWLS= Driving with Suspended License Station in the 19000 Block of W Nine Mile Rd. on a report of A&B= Assault & Battery a suspicious circumstance. The security feed operator CSC= Criminal Sexual Conduct reported what appeared to be an unknown person/ vehicle CCW/CPL= Carrying Concealed Weapon lighting a fire next to the dumpster at the gas station. NOLOP= No Operator License on Person Officers arrived on scene and found a small flame on a R/A= Robbery Armed cardboard box near the dumpster. The flame was RNA= Robbery Not Armed smoldering and barely lit, Officers stomped out the fire.
