THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND SERVICE PROJECT: FEED THE HORNET FOOD PANTRIES University of Lynchburg has three (3) food pantries on campus from which students, staff, and faculty can benefit: The Main Pantry located in Flynn Multicultural Center, the midway pantry in the foyer of Hundley Hall, and the Free Mini Pantry located outside of the Spiritual Life Center. You can order from our wish list on Amazon.com and have items mailed directly to the University or send a check payable to the University earmarked “Food Pantry” mailed to: Flynn Multicultural Center, University of Lynchburg, 1501 Lakeside Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501 FRIDAY 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM THE HUB INFORMATION CENTER SATURDAY 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Drysdale Student Center, First Floor Desk will be SUNDAY 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM open for assistance with questions for any parents and families visiting campus. CAMPUS STORE IS OPEN FRIDAY 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM The University of Lynchburg Campus Store stocks a SATURDAY 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM wide range of useful merchandise. In the store, which is located on the second floor of Drysdale Student Center, you’ll find school, art, computer, and office supplies, as well as health and beauty items, greeting cards, music, and Lynchburg-branded gifts and clothing.

URSINUS ON SHELLENBERGER FIELD 8:00 PM - 8:45 PM CHORAL CONCERT IN SNIDOW CHAPEL Tickets are not required, but early arrival is suggested for best seating. 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM EXPLORE THE STARS AT BELK OBSERVATORY Join the team of knowledgeable docents at the Belk Astronomical Observatory for a night under the stars. Learn about stars, planets, galaxies, nebula and more while you have the opportunity to view the night sky through several pieces of astronomical equipment, including the 20" Gilbert telescope. The Observatory is located at the Claytor Nature Center in Bedford County. Email observatory@lynchburg.edu with subject line "Family Night at Belk" to register; please include the number of guests planning to join! Meet in Flynn Multicultural Center on the 2nd Floor of Drysdale for a light breakfast before shuttle. 9:00 AM HIKE COLE MT. WITH TIM SLUSSER AND THE OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. Meet Tim Slusser, the Director of the Outdoor Leadership Program, for a hike up Mt. Cole! 10:00 AM ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SOMMERVILLE SCHOLAR 11:00 AM WESTOVER HONORS COLLEGE INDUCTION - SNIDOW CHAPEL 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CLAYTOR NATURE CENTER GUIDED HIKE AND LUNCH Enjoy a nature hike at the University's beautiful Claytor Nature Center in Bedford County. Bring your own lunch to enjoy after the hike on the steps of Cloverlea Farmhouse overlooking the reflection pool or under the pavilion at the Education Center. All visitors accept responsibility to follow COVID-19 protocols. Directions to Claytor Nature Center can be found here. 1:00 PM VOLLEYBALL VS. VIRGINIA WESLEYAN IN TURNER GYMNASIUM 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM DAY ON THE DELL Enjoy delicious delicacies from food trucks, like Rookies, Uprooted, Taco Shark, and Nomad Coffee, while listening to the Zach Burnette Band and relaxing on The Dell sitting in the red chairs chatting with family and making memories meeting up with old friends and making new ones! 5:00 PM VOLLEYBALL VS. AVERETT IN TURNER GYMNASIUM 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM CASINO NIGHT - WEST ROOM, DRYSDALE STUDENT CENTER Join SAB and Parents and Family Programs for the Casino Night to win prizes and play with your students!
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM NOMAD COFFEE TRUCK ON CAMPUS It's early in the morning with a long day of traveling ahead! Be sure to pick up a coffee with the Noman Coffee Truck between Drysdale Student Center and Hundley Hall! 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM FAREWELL BRUNCH - BURTON DINING HALL, DRYSDALE STUDENT CENTER 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM OPEN ZIPLINE WITH THE OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM As the last activity on the schedule, join Tim Slusser and the Outdoor Leadership Program, for an open zipline to finish out the weekend with excitement!
